I totally agree. Bieksa is a solid d-man, but I also think his stats have benefited from playing with the Canucks.

You could pretty much put Bieksa on any other team and I'd be willing to bet that his stats would decline.

Phaneuf was a 44 point d-man last season and that's with the Leafs' epic collapse! He'd be 55+, possibly even 60+ on Vancouver, IF he was their #1 PP point man.

Letang clearly. And I would put Orpik, Martin, Bieksa in the same class, with Orpik being slightly above the other 2. And while I wouldn't clearly say Martin is better than Bieksa, there is no way I would say Bieksa is better. Martin last year = much worse than Bieksa. Martin this year = better than Bieksa. So it depends on which Martin you look at, and I'm assuming many in this blog haven't watched this year's Martin.
