That was Avery, one of the reasons he isn't playing hockey anymore. |

I would take Phaneuf over Bieksa, if it is the Phaneuf from a few years ago when he used to hammer people. - immature_male
He still gets a lot of hits, but isn't as wild anymore and is asked to play against the other teams best lines at times, of course his +/- is going to be bad when you're on a bad team and play against the opposing 1st like. I obviously prefer Bieksa at his cap hit, but if they had around the cap hit I'm taking Dion. |

God stuff Ian, but I'd take Phaneuf and Campbell over Bieksa, all things being equal. - Nucker101
Agreed the only problem with Campbell is his contract. |

Given Phaneuf's salary, I'd take Bieksa,
If they're making the same, it's a tough call. |

I think Phaneuf would do better in Vancouver than Bieksa would in TO. I also feel if Phaneuf did not have to be the go to guy and have better linemates he would play alot better. Get back to having fun playing, which it seems the Vancouver D does more than the TO ones. I know less pressure when you are winning and don't have to worry as much about your goalies. |

How many times have the sedins made Phaneuf look like garbage. Lets be real. |
|
|
|
Curious argument about the top-pairing thing w/ Bieksa. He certainly plays tough minutes, but he plays pretty horribly in them, relative to his own blue line in Vancouver.
Garrison and Edler appear demonstrably better.
Bieksa draws tough assignments and primarily defensive-zone minutes, but the guy is awful at driving possession.
I don't see him as a top-pairing player on most teams. |

Extra extra, the oilers fans have shown up again. Breaking news, now that Phaneuf has been brought up the TO ones will be arriving. Sens fans will still be in mourning over loss of Karlsson. |

Post their year by year stats side by side and tell me Bieksa is better without crossing your fingers. The only thing Bieksa can boast is a better plus/Minus - go figure... - gzatron

Ya our top line is playing like poop but our rookies huberdeau and shore are killing it with mueller. If we could just get rid of Kuba and bring up markstrom I would be really happy! |

Ian Esplen: The myth of Kevin Bieksa
The myth of Kevin Bieksa - IanEsplen
All your ratings of where KB is on each team is thoroughly subjective. So try not to act like it is gospel and fact.
K, thx...
PS: It is good you agree that he is fairly paid...not taking the large hometown discount like every other Canuck. |
