There are times that he's looked ok... But every other guy on the roster, at one time or another has had a game, or a string of games where I sat back at the end of the day and said. "That guy was the best defenseman on the ice tonight"...

I've never said that about Butler.

I've said it about Gio, Brodie, JBo, even Sarich, and once even about Smith.

Never about Butler. I think that's why I feel so ambivalent about him. He's not always terrible, but he's never fantastic.
