I would hope that's what he said. The highest rewards also tend to carry the most risk. I thought maybe he was moving in the right direction with the Hodgson trade. I was then really shocked with the Roy trade. But it now appears that he's fallen back into his old ways.

Sherman doesn't have to trade ROR so he can easily ask for a roster player, a prospect and a pick. He can play hard ball with the other GM's and if no one bites, he can just let ROR sit till he caves.

I wouldn't say that. it's not like the league is on fire with trades, they've all been minor at this point. personally i'm expecting darcy to do something 2 weeks before the trade deadline or at the trade deadline. i would love RoR but maybe he'll surprise us with something else, or at the very least dumb some dead weight for some pieces for the draft.

Two weeks before the trade deadline will be too late for this season. For those keeping track at home that would be 7 missed playoffs in 11 seasons. If Toronto were to get in we would have made the playoffs exactly as many times as the Leafs in the last 11 seasons. 36% isn't even mediocre. It's plain terrible.
