Stafford better wake up. Quickly.

Great line, Garth. Your man crush (until Grigorenko arrived) has nothing to worry about. 4 million guaranteed. An "A" on his jersey. Couldn't trade him for pucks.

The Avs have all the leverage because of the amount of teams that are interested, they can pick the best deal.
- SABRES 89

I still don't think he's worth 5 mil per year though.

he's been hurt for forever, and vancouver has cap problems, does anybody think Ryan Kesler could be traded? (not saying to sabres, but maybe, but just in general)
- FIREonICE

He's been cleared to play

I see your point but the AVS want an proven NHL player, D man and a pick I THINK. So I don't think that will work it would have to be Ennis, gotta give to get.
- SABRES 89

Stafford, Girgensons, Brennan --->
O'Reilly, +
they'd have to add something more...
Pick? McGinn?

And yes, I think A guy who scored almost 90goals the past 4 years is a top6 forward for MOST teams...
The fact that Stafford is struggling is balanced by the O'Reilly injury/holdout/contract demands

If some other team wants to go crazy for him, than let them overpay...
I like O'Reilly, but he does come with ?s
That's why a team hasn't offered what Colorado supposedly wants IMO

I said that a few mins ago. I'd totally trade all 3 of them at once if it got me O'Reilly.

He just might be that's a chance you take and the Sabres don't have much to lose, it's not like we make it to the playoffs every year or have a cup. People have a whole " new attitude" with Pegulla

You might as well stop with the Girgensons thing. I don't know what you have against him, but they're not going to move him. They gave up a pick in the draft to move up and get him. They're not going to move him. Not anytime soon at least.

Darcy doesn't function that way and you know that.

Stafford is killing us contract and his play, that would be a hard sell.

The guy who never traded Tim Connolly ain't trading a first round pick before he's ever played for the Sabres (Girgensons).

I get that. I like what I've seen from him to a point. But the problem is there's no guarantee he continues to develop and grow into a 5 mil player.

I already have all I can handle when it comes to people complaining about players not living up to their contracts. I'd rather not add another one.

Oh, I know that. I'm just saying based off of the numbers for each player, it would seem that giving up Ennis for him straight up would be a bad deal on our end. I get that they want more than that for O'Reilly, but really, who has the leverage here?

They have a guy that basically refuses to sign a contract with them at this point. I don't really understand why they think they can demand a top 6 player, a top prospect and a draft pick for him. Seems to be a bit much. Especially when you're talking about a guy who's career high for goals is 18. Jochen Hecht has a higher number than that.

- HonkFortheGoose

They won't get what they are demanding. Remember what Colombus initially asked for Nash. They have to ask for a lot to get the most out of the deal. this thing will drag out unless someone blows them away with a great offer

I get the feeling he is as well.

Maybe I just have the worst case scenario mentality right now because we don't have the best track record. Maybe if they changed the coach, I'd be a bit more optimistic it would actually work out for us.

I don't think so. They traded Hodgson because they didn't have the room for him. If Kesler not being there was even a thought they had, they would have never traded Hodgson.

Yea probably. Ennis + Mcnabb or Pysyk is a little much, even though I hate the idea of over rating our own prospects but I personally really like Ennis

That's a guy I'd be willing to trade Ennis for
We keep talking about the next "Drury"
Well Kesler is that and then some

i don't know if that's entirely true. i don't see them trading kesler but i kind of feel on their end it was "here you throw this out" and "wow you want to give up him for this guy?"
