Imagine a 3rd line of Foligno-O'Reilly-Girgensons/Armia.
Oh I think that would work VERY well.

- kingcong39

you don't trade for ROR to put him on the 3rd line.

yes. vanek too. probably miller as well. all 3 will resign
- robz228

Whats your guess on the per year??? Around the same?

I dont want Miller if he wants the same or even more. I also dont want Vanek for more or the same.

As well as Vanek is doing this season he is not worth his contract and everyone knows it. He is are best player and deserves around 6m.

So we are going to give up our current 2nd line center + a top prospect and pick or whatever combination it takes to get a 3rd line center? Also would have him pay him a lot of money.

Then o well. Let CBJ give up 2 1st rounders for him. Watch it become the next Phil Kessel trade all over again
- sbroads24

That right there is part of the problem, you don't want to give up anything because you think the"future" is going to help us. It hasn't yet my friend so we should stop saying " We can't trade this or we can't trade that".

IMO Miller will be playing the rest of his career with your other favorite team.

IMO he's a Blue Jacket sooner rather than later and they get one of their 3 1sts in the deal.

I love steve ott as well and liked the trade. But we never really replaced the scoring of Roy.

Its a shame we wont see his importance to the team in the playoffs

- Smittyx36

PPG for Ott's career is .399. PPG for Roy is .77. Pretty big difference but Roy had no size, grit, heart, etc. etc. Allegedly, players did not like him either..

We lost with Roy. I'll take my chances on being able to win with Ott.

I think it's pretty unanimous on this board on our feelings about Ruff.

Everything you said I agree with.... BUT we never replaced the point production of Roy. F/A or trade. I thought the ott deal was gonna be one of a couple. I thought wrong.

Because that is the kind of eye opening offer you would need to make to even budge Colorado to think about it.

I would absolutely do it, by the way.

It just adds to your thesis.

I'm being more subtle about it this year. It clearly was something the majority didn't want to hear. That being said, Ott was a good addition, and I thought they could easily replace Roy's "production" by committee. Nobody has at this point.

Ott isn't just an agitator either. He'll take a hit to make a play, and that's what makes him effective. I've always said I want guys like that. I don't care they they never drop the gloves once.
