That was one of 2/3 games I saw the Ott that was so great in Dallas. I just expected that kind of stuff on a night to night basis. - Smittyx36
he doesnt do that every night, never has. No one does.....if he did he would either make 4-5M a year or never would have been traded for Roy. |

The games ive watched he's been fine IMO.
Opinions vary though. - CaptainRivet
I'm not saying he has been bad or average by any means. I guess I expected him to be agitating players like crazy.
I expect to much from players obviously lol |

I did not, no. So you'd give Ennis and one of our top d prospects for O'Reilly?
I wouldn't, were it my decision. - nfph
I'll go there...how about Grigorenko for O'Reilly?
I'd do that deal. |

Well he is a rare kinda player IMO. Fan favorite, some offensive ability, gets the crowd going, good defensively.
I guess I was expecting to love the way he played like I did with Barnaby when I was a kid.

Whats to say he hasn't been?
Just because guys aren't taking penalties doesn't mean he's not agitating the piss out of them.
He is doing and playing the same way he did in Dallas. |

I'd be very upset if we gave up McNabb. We already have too many O minded D men. Plus we will most likely be losing Regehr, Leo, Sulzer next year.
I'd rather it be Ennis + JGL or Pysyk.
No to McNabb, no to Armia. |

If thats the case then ROR for Ennis + +. In a heartbeat.
But him holding out like this doesn't make him look like the kinda guy drury was off the ice and as a leader.
But then again this is a business so this kind of stuff is expected |

because we need a solid two center....Ennis isnt that guy. - Homer
i used to think ennis was the next briere. i've amended my projections to he'll either be the next derek roy or the next danny briere.
in that case, it makes it much easier for me to want to trade him if o'reilly is available. |

I think, as long as he stays as solid as he has been, Sulzer has a job here for awhile. |

I agree but it's hard to say, I think it might take a little more then Ennis, not a lot just a tad more. |

second in the league in hits as well....no idea what these people or you are talking about. - Homer
Steve Ott is also a bigger part of a bigger picture. On a deep playoff run he's the guy you want on your team and on your bench.
Agreed.
You can have Derek Roy casually skating back to the bench after dumping a puck in or you can have Steve Ott dumping the puck in, chasing it and at the very least HAMMERING the D man every single time. Maybe causing a turnover, maybe setting up a scoring chance.
Steve Ott = benefits you don't read on a score sheet every night.
LOVE Steve Ott !! |

I love steve ott as well and liked the trade. But we never really replaced the scoring of Roy.
Its a shame we wont see his importance to the team in the playoffs |

No. There hasn't been a more consistent Sabres player in the last half decade than Pominville. |
