Wow did Nielsen make that look easy

If only Grabner had hands like him.

Biron sucks monkey b*lls in the SO. I remember we had him a couple of years ago against St. Louis....gave up three in a row, including to Boyes....he doesn't even move. He's what you call a positional goaltender.
- dcb1

It looked like he was cheating toward Nielsen's backhand, which is why he was frozen by the shot. On Tavares'...yeah, he just didn't move.

Win's a win! I'll take it.

That win bought Jack 10 more games.

No penalty there....in 1997....and really shouldn't be....but if we did it to them....one of the Rag$ would have been coming in alone from center ice....guaranteed...
- dcb1

You're unfortunately probably right.

JT is great but lousy in shootouts normally so you know Biron is lousy in shootouts when JT scores.

He looks decent tonight. Knowing the Isles luck they will drop Finley and he turns into Chara. For that reason alone I would not give him up too quick.
- ses111

You can't teach 6'7". I do like that he showes a little physical aggression tonigh. It's more than we ever got from Wishart.

He was definitely anticipating that move. His feet were a good 12 inches apart and never moved. He was determined to stay on his feet.

I know the chances of him being Chara are very low but the idea of him becoming close to Chara would really prevent me from wanting to get rid of him right away. After tonight I would keep playing him and keep playing him unless he was really bad.

The idea of him becoming the defensive half of Chara would be worth the wait. I don't need him to do anything except hurt people wearing the opposing sweater, with punishing body checks. I think he just needs someone to teach him how to skate, which is something Chara also had to learn.

grabner should definitely had penalty shot, he was raped multiple times on that breakaway.

Well, huge 2 points for the boys. Let hope they can build off it.

Suprisely Finley had his best game as An Islander.

its scary how much better visnosky is than streit.

KO skated hard tonight. Could you imagine if he realize how much better he could be if he hit people?

I love Matt Martin. My Boy Bailey was very Average tonight. Im a bit disappointed.

Well, we all said we need this win bad and we got it. season still alive.

This win means nothing if they lose the next game. Some good signs and still plenty of troubling ones.

that is an understatement, he really was moving out there, I don't know what lit a fire under his @ss (Rumor he's on the block maybe?), but I hope it keeps burning him.. cause he showed a lot tonight.

By a lot do you mean like he misses the net by 5 ft every time he shoots? Or that for a guy built like a linebacker he hits like a punter? It was comical watching Martin, Cizikas & McDonald throwing the body around hitting everything in sight and then Okposo following up that shift by glancing off people in the corner. It really showed you how soft he really is. Scratch Okposo and put Ullstrom back in saturday

A lot meaning he was all hustle tonight, I didn't see him tripping over any of the lines, i didn't see him just gliding out there... but I did see him beating out people to the puck, I saw him winning the battles along the boards and I saw him keeping his legs moving... he may be soft, but that doesn't mean he wasn't working his @ss off tonight. I haven't seen him play like that in a long time.. I hope it becomes the norm rather then the exception.

Another observation. Brad boyes scores important goals.
He so far has been a great pickup. His passing is very underrated as well.

Matt Martin is all Islander. They should have paid him more in his contract.

Why? Because fans like him? You dont pay a guy more $$ just because hea a fan favorite. you pay for production. They paid him enough, as evidenced by the fact Martin signed a 4 year deal. He could have signed for 1 year if he was unhappy with the money. Martin is all islander. And if he wants to remain that way, he will be. This team will always pay a guy like that what he's worth because it is not that much.

Great turn around last night. They absolutely sucked in the first, they were a different team after that. If they play every period like they played in the second, they'd be a playoff team. And that's the frustrating part. As a group they are maddeningly inconsistent.

I saw the Grabner breakaway on replay this morning. A (frank)ing travesty that nothing was called on that play. The one guy hit him twice in the balls. I also wish one of the Isles would have done something about it as well........
