This one is for the ages. It gives us flexibility now with trade assets in a deep draft. Now, we can peddle Tangradi, Jeffrey, TK, the fifth rounder for Lovejoy and this pick for Corey Perry.

What?!?!? We couldn't throw in TK & Jeffrey and get Wheeler?

I like Kunitz and what he's done, I enjoy his game when its a bit better, but I think he's gone depending on what Malkin and Letang demand. Orpik as well. I would like to see the Pens go after Corey Perry in the off season. No way ANA trades him when they're playing this well. I think they'll sign Getz and let Perry go.

Not really, the trade now just looks like TK, Jeffrey, plus this 7th and Lovejoy's 5th for Iginla, Perry, etc etc etc...

If Lovejoy gets a fifth, how does one exactly acquire a seventh? Win the Cup and we get Mr. Irrevelent.

Don Waddell was recently on one of the local radio shows, and he said that Dupuis was a thrown in because Shero lost two roster forwards in the deal, and needed someone back. Waddell knew that Dupuis wasn't going to resign there as a UFA that summer, so just tossed him in to make it work for Shero.

Funny how things work out.

Speaking of Don Waddell, you gotta give Shero a lot of credit with the staff he hires. Some GM's would be scared of bringing in potential successors, but Shero has hired Waddell, Andre Savard, and Randy Sexton as scouts. All guys who have GM experience.

Waddell is still in the NHL????????? I never knew he was on the Pens staff. After his run in Hotlanta I would have thought he'd be selling insurance for Affleck the way he managed that team.

Yeah, there is really no need to free up a roster spot, unless they were looking for a taker for Tangradi for a while, and an offer finally came in.

Shero read my comments earlier. He was trying to squeeze them a little and get Wheeler + 7th for Tangradi.......he obviously settled for just the 7th.

Getz is a center and a pretty good one still not that old. I think he would be the keeper.

Considering Strait is playing top pairing on the island, and lovejoy had 2 assists last night while playing 18mins; Id say your prediction is probably more true than not. The assist will be on a goal by Wheeler....take it to the bank

All jokes aside, as much as we ride Tangradi, he seems like an ok dude, and hopefully he gets a chance and does well in Winnipeg.

I would think that the little things that Shero does get noticed around the league by players and agents. Michalek wanted out, and he traded him back to Phoenix, Lovejoy isn't getting a chance, so he moves him somewhere that there is more opportunity. Same with Tangradi. He could have buried these guys in the press box all season (like Dustin Jeffrey )

I think if Tangradi would have had more time with Crosby and more PP time, he easily would have been the Pens next Kevin Stevens. He has 50g/yr potential. Its a shame the Pens didn't give him a chance.

poor DJ, I have always liked him and hope he can become a decent 2nd/3rd line player... I wished he could havebeen a 1st line winger but never got the oppurtunity

Actually, this deal makes sense for both teams and I can easily see this happening. STL's defense has all the sudden looked terrible and Calgary needs a rebuild. Berglund and a second is more than I though JayBo was worth. Good move by Calgary, if true.
