Sucks about Karlsson, he is a force. My fantasy team is in trouble.

I thought Cooke should have gone to Sids wing and Kunitz reunited with Geno, but I like Cookie with Geno. They created plenty of good opportunities in the period + that they were together.

Martin and Letang is the absolute right thing to do with the PP. No more Geno on the point means less shorthanded rushes that were becoming far too frequent.

Flower sucked for all of 30 seconds tonight. Otherwise a great game. Hold the post! And don't fling the glove at a weak wrist shot.

To clear this up.

Not the elbow flying dbag Cooke, but a guy that would agitate and check every once in awhile. Grit vs. Stupidity can sometimes be a fine line. I want the grit back.

this was a total accident. ok cooke is known for being a scumbag but how on earth can you plan to do that at full speed? cooke was given his wake up call by the league a few years back and he has changed his game for fear of being kicked out of the NHL.

What? No it's not. He isn't even going to be disciplined for this. Look, I'm not a giant Matt Cooke fan because of things that he has done in the past, but if people think that Matt Cooke is smart enough to process where Karlsson's Achilles' tendon during his shift and accurately assess where the incision needed to be made to end this young defensman's season then they are just nuts. He's not Dexter, he's a [former] goon. I don't doubt that he meant to play gritty (that's his game!). It's the NHL and people get hurt. Reminds me very much of the hit Sid took in the Winter Classic. Steckel wasn't trying to fraking hurt Crosby, he was just playing the game. It sucked, but it wasn't malicious and Steckel didn't get in trouble and he didn't have crap beaten out of him by the Pens the next time they met because people accepted that it was just a really crappy byproduct of the fast and furious NHL.


Speaking of Cooke, I REALLY liked him on the Neal/Malkin line!

forgive me if i have a hard time believing you, but i didn't see a SINGLE pens fan who didn't think steckel hit him deliberatley, and basically called for his head.

if you can't understand why sens fans are upset, and perhaps question cookes motives (i for one think it was not intentional), and call them idiots if they're still pissed in a couple of days..........well then i think the biggest idiot you'll likely see is the one staring back at you in the mirror
