I love the kid. He can also keep up with Kovy. Adds some nice size and grit to the Kovy line. The 2 of them have some good chemistry - Jeffrey7146
I wouldn't mind trying him on the wing with Kovy and Zajac, as they will create a lot of space for him. That said, I thought Butler looked solid playing on the top line too. |

They also say he can't play wing - shvingter88
correct, can't play wing effectively, and needs to be a top 6 player. with zajac and henrique down the middle, i'm not sure how lokti would plug into a third line role. he's also small and gets pushed around pretty easily.
no question he has talent, but has to be in a pretty ideal situation for that to show through. maybe he gets his chance in NJ. i think in general, LA fans liked his talent but frustrated that it wasn't shown more consistently to stick with the big club. |

Maybe putting him on a line with kovy for a few shifts would work. He gets all the attention anyway. |

I know it's only a few games in but so far I really like Butler and would love him to stick around as a regular. He's looked great on the power-play and I like to see DeBoer try him with Zajac and Kovy. - MannySilvers
It seemed like last night that on the PP Butler was playing a simliar role to what Elias does. Hovers outside the slot area along the boards and gives the Dmen a 2nd pass option if their partner isn't ready for a pass. Can bring it down low and look for the pass to the front of the net or back door. It's how he got his first goal with us. So far I really like |

I don't have the patience to sit here and watch our poopty ass team do poopty while teams like the sabers dominate in this league - shvingter88
Very cute!!
At least, the Sabres do have some fans whom support them!
I live in NJ, and let me tell you that most of the people here in NJ do not even give rats arse about your team! I catch some Sabres-Devils games, and most of the time that arena is half empty.
Also, if it wasn't because of Marty, the Devils would probably not even exist right now.
You don't have to put other teams down to make a point.
I am sure you did not like it when the great one (Wayne Gretzky) called your team a mickey mouse operation! Or, maybe you were too little to remember that? Well, you can maybe ask your dady about that one! |

Don't get all butthurt cause your team is bad. I do believe the team has sold out every home game this year. So he called us Disneyland, it's cool the Devils won 3 cups since then. Thanks for trying to put a team down to make a point |

By just the way Loki says he isn't comfortable on the wing, already seems like it won't work with him there. I'm not sure he will stick in the NHL this season. If they want to give him a shot at center play him with Butler and either Matteau or Josefson as the LW. I've liked what Matteau has brought but once Lou can deal for an established top 9 LW, he needs to be sent down.
For now:
Matteau-Zajac-Kovy (Not a fan of this line so far, have brought nothing at even strength)
Elias-Henrique-Clarkson (Really like this line, need to keep Henrique at center...he isn't Parise)
Josefson-Loki-Butler (Give it a shot, Josefson and Butler need to play with a player with some offensive skill)
Carter-Gionta-Bernier (Great line, they are our 3rd line right now but I'd like them to be moved back to being the 4th line and get some favourable match ups) |

I just figured it out. It's only a matter of time before Josefson gets hurt again. That's why we brought in Loktinov. Doomed?

So, given the fact that you bailed on the Whalers when they moved to Carolina, who are you going to root for once the Devils move to Quebec? |

I can just hear Rick Jeanneret screaming "May Day, May Day" as Grigorenko tears through the Devils. His wrath unchecked as blood and guts spill out onto the ice. The fans cheer as the Devils are murdered one after the other. The last days of Brodeur go down as Grigorenko rips out Marty's heart and eats it in front of him. |

no way I could have supported them in Carolina. I want them to move back so giving them money for merchandise and tickets was out of the question.
I'd probably favorite another team that's likely to move.
Probably Florida. |

cups and success > fans
mickey mouse is a successful character and well the devils are successful (when not doomed) so are you complimenting us
if it wasn't for Toronto and their high prices the sabres would have no fans see what i did there
