So, what would we give for Ryan O'Reilly?

Would you trade Kadri straight up?

What you do Kadri + Percy or Blacker?

Would you trade Grabovski straight up?

What about Grabovski and a pick?

Would you do Gardiner straight up?

Would you do Gardiner + Ashton/Colborne?

I would probably do any of the above.

Whatever you do, do not read the Leafs wall on facebook. So many idiotic comments.

"Why did they call up Rynnas? Reimer is only out for a week"

"Why dont we get a loaner goalie from Nyi? Di petro (Yes, he spelt like that) Nabokov or Thomas"

"This move is stupid".

Half of it is stupid, unintelligent comments, and the other half is porn.

So how is that different from HB exactly?

Considering age, salary and upside, I would say there is virtually a 0% chance Colorado would even go straight up with Grabo, nevermind swap a better pick.

I guess this happens when another fanbase fills your arena because you have crappy fans

The Senators as an organization and their fans are a bunch crying *ussies!

Strap on a pair and lose like a man. I mean lose in every aspect (games, cups, better fan base, bigger franchise, richer and longer history and heritage, popularity)

Edit: Just crawl and die already!

That's a tough call, and it all depends on whether we think a) Kadri will be better than a 60 point forward, or that b) O'Reilly will be better than a 50-60 point forward

For Grabovsky straight up, I would say say yes...because they're players of similar ilk, just O'Reilly being younger. Gardiner, its a tough call...again depends on what the Leafs realistically think O'Reilly's ceiling is.

It will be interesting to see how many QMJHL, OHL, WHL foreign imports are impact players in Junior.

Frenchie get on that, I want a blog by tomorrow, Friday at the latest.

Do you really? I guess I could do one. I got a few guys with big futures in my notes. Draisaitl, Jaskin, Zykov, Frk, Kucherov, Zadorov, Barbashev (My favourite)

I'd probably do any of those as well. I'd like to keep Reilly though. Any other prospect is pretty expendable.

Colorado is going to get some considerable offers.

Obviously, I would like to get rid of Grabo so there is no net affect on our cap. The problem is, I don't see that happening at all. I think you have to give at least one of Kadri or Gardiner.

Yeah that is the way I view it. You don't like to give up on Kadri right now,and Gardiner showed some HUGE upside last year. The problem is that guys like O'Reilly are the kind of players every team wants (contract dispute not withstanding).

I offer Grabo + one of Percy/Blacker/Finn 2nd round pick (I try like hell to make it not Finn). I tell the Colorado GM to call me before making a deal. If necessary I cave in and give up Gardiner + or Kadri +

If they demand Rielly or the 1st, the conversation is over.

I'm interested to see how many top Euro/Russia players are playing in the CHL, I don't think I have ever seen a blog about that, are we really developing their top players?

I dont want O'Rielly. Hes not that much better then what we have and he could be a flash in the pan. That being said, I think we should trade MacA and Grabo at the deadline for picks.

Haven't seen a lot of O'Reilly. Does he compare to anybody? Benn? Backes? M. Richards? .....or is he a step down from that like maybe Grabo?

The Leafs need a 20+ minute centre that can play both ends so I'd consider moving any of those guys if I thought O'Reilly was my best shot at getting that centre. I'd try really hard to leave Kadri and Gardiner out of the deal though.

Avs look like they need a PMD ...

Only a few. Yakupov is the first BIG player to leave. Grigorenko the second but he did it in his draft year to make sure he would go top-5 (well...that didn;t work out). Kucherov is great but he joined literally only to play with his best friend Grigo in Quebec. Barbashev is a top prospect in 2014 doing the Yakupov thing. But there are still top guys like Tarasenko, Kuznetsov who stayed/staying.

I think as the NHL teams avoid more and more Russians (soon to be Czech's and Slovaks as they merge with the KHL) we'll see high talent leaving for the CHL.

The odd thing is the top Swedish/Finnish talent almost never leaves. Landeskog and Maata being the only two in the past 6 years.

Avs best defensive forward. Just turned 22. Outscored every Leaf not named Kessel or Lupul last year.

I think the Leafs can make room for such a player.

A month ago I would have punched you in the face for suggesting Gardiner could be dealt ...and kicked anybody in the balls for suggesting that Kadri was more untouchable. But now ...seeing Kadri play and with the defence playing well and the kids in the pipe I think Gardiner is at least a little more moveable than Kadri.

Philip's agent says he loves playing for the Leafs and wants to extend: http://www.sportsnet.ca/5...t_wade_arnott_brady_lang/

What's your cap limit for Phil? 6.5/5yrs for me.

Disagree.

Grabo has been very, very good in the shutdown center role.

Yep...I can understand some fans not wanting to give up what it would take to land him but to say we have no room/he's not what the leaf need is reaching at best.....

O'Reilly would be the #1C on the Leafs...
