Wilson's shot totals would always leave us scratching our heads. It wasn't uncommon to see us outshoot the opposition by 10 or 15 or 20.

Now, we are getting outshot by 15, but the results are different. And I will offer that up as one of my reasons for believing this year's hot start is for real.

The quality of shots for vs. shots against is completely different than previous years.

Tangradi. Now THERE'S the prospect this team needed 3 years ago.

Can you imagine if the Leafs had been able to land Tangradi in the Ponikarovsky trade instead of Caputi? Man, we'd be well on our way to a cup by now.

But you don't get top-tier prospects like that for guys like Ponikarovsky. You only get guys like that if you're willing to blow it up and trade Kessel, Phaneuf, etc...
