Bernier isn't a proven goaltender, He has just a few more games than Reimer, He would probably be like Schneider a great backup but when given the reins full time boom explosion of suckiness.

The Canucks are so happy right now that they didn't trade Luongo before the season started because who knows what there record would be with Schneider playing every night.

Ryan O'Reilly 101 takeaways 34 giveaways first in the entire league at 21 in takeaways.

That is an insane percentage. If he was a Staal people would jizz their pants over him like the second coming. He outscored Stastny, Landeskog, Duchene, Downie, Jones, Hedjuk name any of their players he led them in points, top defensive player on their roster and is young as hell.

That's relatively little offensive production to show for that many takeways...especially compared to the list of names he's with among the takeaway leaders.

The question is not just if he's a solid defensive player, which he is, it's that is he a good enough all-round player to justify Colorado's asking price in a trade, plus his asking price in a contract. It's a huge investment in a young player...and a two-way 40-50 point forward may not cut it.

One thing that always has to be considered as well...last season was his contract year, and here we are.

Kadri is also getting his first shot full time in the NHL and has been way more comfortable at center then he ever was at wing. You can blame Wilson and Burke for his short comings up to this point because they are the ones that tried to make him a winger.

Uh, you responded to a comment that not worth O'Rielly straight up and then pointed out that he only has 1- 55 point season. What exactly has Kadri done. You also ignore that O'Reilly is known as a very strong defensive forward. Kadri is not.

You can argue that Kadri has more upside. I won't agree, but I respect that is your opinion. I think it is silly to argue about what he has done to date.

He doesn't deserve his salary demands though. That I will agree with.

Sideways in that the team is giving up several good young players, Kadri and/or Gards, to get one good young player. All of them with short but good resumes in limited action. Then paying that one player more than you're paying the two traded.

I would love to have him but as always, what is the price? It always comes down to who you have to part with to get him and does it make sense.

Sideways from who? I don't see a Leafs center that is as good. Grabovski is close but I don't believe there is any more upside left in Grabovski.

I would love him on this team, just not over paying in terms of assets then over paying in cap dollars to make it happen. If this was Stamkos, I give whatever it takes. But it's not, so I dont see the point in potentially doing more harm than good to the team.
