I'm lucky ... My wife is like a honey badger when it comes to V Day
- .HOHO.

I'm even luckier...my better half understands today is a complete crock and is simply a cash grab for companies to prey on the weak minded.

I buy her flowers all the time (and not crappy roses), so its all good.

Yes, taking a player into the boards and getting your skate blade on the back of their ankle with enough pressure to slice tendons is "fine".

Just like they teach you from day one, right?

Go look at my post and aetherial's post.

How often do you see this kind of play happen?
How often do you see this injury caused this way?
How often does Cooke just happen to be the cause of a far, far more valuable player getting hurt/injured?

What are the chances that Cooke just accidentally took out their top player for months with a "routine" play that never actually happens?

- Feeling Glucky?

This and Aetherial's post are spot on.

Cooke's defenders seem to vacillate between "it was a freak accident" and "this is actually really common".

Well, which is it?

Here too.

We hate Valentines day. We do our own thing all the time. In fact she hates it more than I do.

Then again, I married a woman with her head on her shoulders and is nothing close to materialistic.

As per a Panther fan in Ek's thread ....

Can't believe this rumor hasn't hit the fan yet but reported out of Florida:

Demitry Kulikov, Weiss and 2013 3rd round pick to Toronto

for

Dion Phaneuf and Nikolai Kulemin

Dono what I feel about this, dono what Tallon's thinking.

No, let's be clear here. I don't think Cooke was attempting to set up this exact play.

But, given the choice between doing everything possible to prevent his skate blade from contacting another player and just "letting it happen" and letting the chips fall where they will, does anybody believe Cooke's first thought would be for the well-being of his opponent?

So you're suggesting every time a bodycheck is thrown in a game that the player driving his opponent into the boards with physical force is doing so with the well-being of his oppenent in mind? Ground breaking stuff her, gather round children. Today we learn.

Yes, how often do players get cut by skates.....lets think about that.

Had it been anyone else but cooke.....we wouldn't be having this conversation.

i admit it looks a bit weird but at full speed to pull that off with such accuracy just seems impossible.

It was an accident that has happened in the past.....it will happen again unless players start putting protection on.
Get over it.

It can be tough sometimes, when you have to actually buy gifts. IE Christmas, Mothers Day and Birthdays. But I know her favourites things, so it helps, but you use those up fast.

The hit is 'really common'

The subsequent injury was a 'freak accident'

Get over it. There probably won't even be a hearing about this.
