Haha this clown is hilarious. There is not one player on the Leafs he would take. Please tell me about how much better the Oilers are.

Magnus is going to have to start using his size more. He needs to play gritty and take the puck to the net to be effective. Harti needs to up his offensive production a little bit more. I think both guys can definitely get there though.

hes been more physical as of late. Harti seems to be the grinder in the corners on that line. MPS is becoming a solid PKer and can push the play, thats all i hope from him.

The Oilers need forwards who can score...... as crazy as that sounds

no. they need a big bodied physical guy to create space some space, give them the option to dump and chase and do the dirty work...so that their scorers can score

Let me start by saying I love Smid and if he doesn't sign long term this summer I'll be pretty upset. I like Petry but I don't see much offense in his game. Makes a decent breakout pass, but not great. Solid defensively and will be a rock on our 2nd pairing. I personally think Potter is a glorified minor-leaguer. They need somebody else back their who can move the puck up the ice to the forwards and play PP.

I love Smid too. I want him signed longterm. 4 years @ 3.5-4 million/ per. But if we can't resign him by the trade deadline we need to consider moving him. We can't afford to be losing assets for nothing. Potter is alright but no higher than a 7th man on the depth chart.

smid could probably get top dollar on the open market.
hopefully we can get him at 4 max. doubt it though.

fine with the slight overpayments (about 0.5 - 1 mil each) for ebs and hall for those long term contracts. woulda be nice to save those pennies though

If smid gets traded, Oilers crumble. If anything they need to sign Smid and his identical twin. EDM needs another no-bullpoop top 4 defensive D man. Schultz and Petry can be the D men on the PP.They need someone reliable to play with j. Schultz that isnt N schultz. As funny as a Schultz squared pair is, N schultz isnt top pairing material (or second pairing material for that matter).

There's a difference between "good enough to make our roster" and "want on our team". The latter has to do with fit, chemistry, attitudes, contract, etc. Kessel is a lot of the kind of skill set we have and doesn't necessarily solve any problems.

I agree with JVR, Bozak, Gunner especially. But I understand full-well that just because Phaneuf and Kessel are good enough to make our team doesn't mean they're something Oilers fans are looking for/coveting.
