Ryan Jones can come back any time now. - robin_steele264
(frank) I love him. I'd still do Gunnarsson for Jones. |

Gilbert?
Brodziak?
Dude.... - robin_steele264
Gilbert's great. Watched the MIN-CGY game yesterday and he looked great in every area of the ice. Gilbert was real fun to watch and real unappreciated. I love N Schultz, but Gilbert is a better all-around D man that can play 24 mins a night |

Apparently marrying Elisha Cuthbert has ruined his life. I would of assumed it made it a whole lot better |

I doubt that Jones would want you to do Gunnarsson. |

Brian Boyle has been scratched for like 3 games or something in NY. Maybe he has fallen out of favour with Torts, or maybe there just isn't room for him there anymore. I think the Oilers should have time for a guy like that. He's a huge guy bottom 6 that can win faceoffs and can chip in decent offense given his role. Exactly what the Oil need. - SteveTambellini
He is very high on my list for our 3rd C, possibly working his way up to 2nd |

I don't think he has the offensive ability to play permanently as a top 6. |

You don't think you can get Getzlaf, Brown and Edler for Stajan, White, Hagman and Mayers??? - Morris

Very true, but a much easier type of player to find IMO. - SteveTambellini
I think the emergence of Petry and Justin made the need for anyone other than a potter type player overkill. With Justin playing half the game with whoever and then Smid and Petry playing solid. Having Nick is a bonus. Potter can handle the 10 minutes of low pressure shifts he is needed for. He can be improved upon but I think that management and a lot of us are really thinking that Klefbom is going to make a big impact on the roster next year and Fistric keeps playing his way into a contract extension. I like Nick but if Petry and Fistric keep getting better he might not be worth his salary come summer time when they are looking for that third line center. There is nothing he can do that Smid can't. |

No. Jones is a bigger piece to the Oilers than a lot of people give him credit. He's versatile, chips in 30pts and 15 goals, forecheks and might be the Oilers best player at digging below the goal line. |

Let me start by saying I love Smid and if he doesn't sign long term this summer I'll be pretty upset. I like Petry but I don't see much offense in his game. Makes a decent breakout pass, but not great. Solid defensively and will be a rock on our 2nd pairing. I personally think Potter is a glorified minor-leaguer. They need somebody else back their who can move the puck up the ice to the forwards and play PP. |

Magnus is going to have to start using his size more. He needs to play gritty and take the puck to the net to be effective. Harti needs to up his offensive production a little bit more. I think both guys can definitely get there though. |

Petry definitely is solid defensively and physically but the Oilers are in dire need of another puck mover. I would take Gilbert in the Oiler's lineup over Whitney/Potter/N. Schultz for sure. - SteveTambellini

We have forwards that can score, they just aren't. Who would have thought that 12 games into the season Yakupov-Gagner-Hemsky would have 14 goals and Hall-RNH-Ebs would have 5. Definitely not me
Thank god for Dubnyk or we wouldn't still be in the playoff race. |

I'd trade Whitney for Penner right now we could get Penner goin again. It mite take Mac T and an electric cattle prod. Hall and Penner had chemistry Whitney does nothing Potter can't(this year) Pecham will be an upgrade |
