i don't know how desperate ott will be. the team may try to rely on depth, but why not trade for a d-man that is ufa season end and let him walk. gonchar is also ufa for ott. give karlsson all the time to rehab and heal. he is too good to rush him back for anything. funny thing is tor and buf also have surplus of d-man, but in the same division as ott, so they prob won't trade with ott.

i don't think it'll be much in a return. maybe a depth roster player or low-mid prospect plus conditional mid to late pick if he resigns in ott.
