It wouldn't cost anything if you were doing a compliance buyout.
I may be wrong, but I think Clouts' thinking was as follows: The Oil might want to do several compliance buyouts, while Toronto isn't likely to do any. We shift one of ours to you guys and compensate you with a draft pick, so that we can have two to use elsewhere. - Morris
I doubt a 1st or 2nd would come, not sure the Leafs would want to spend 16 million on a 3rd and up pick. |

Hopefully Smith retires. He should have stayed on Long Island. - Dean_Youngblood
Very disrespectful comment, this guy doesn't feel angry because he's a scratch, he feels guilty. I'm sure Smyth is hurting inside because he wants so badly to contribute and his legs just aren't there. Your comment really REALLY sucks. |

That'd nice and all, if they weren't going to buy out Komisarek at the end of the year. |

Rumour floating on the Flames boards that Cloutier is about to be hired by the Oilers. We will give that an S4 |

You completely overestimate how much teams will offer up for a $6.5mil cap hit player who plays like a $4.5mil cap hit player and has a train wreck of a personal life that keeps causing issues between him and his teammates. |

He wont be bought out, Cloutier wants it so badly, but he's actually a useful hockey player and helps the team.
Clouts will have to suffer.

LOL. Why would they want to do that? Things are not that desperate in Edmonton. |
