I'll give you pronget, neids, and lidstrom......but he was EASILY as good as macinnis in his own end.
- sensarmy_11

MacInnis, Neids, and Lidstrom were also in their 30's when they won their 1st.

Is it just me or is gringo a horrible skater...he just does not look like I thought he would. For a supposed big center men he looks like he is way to passive. I got a bad feeling this guy is not who we thought he was...
- keithl5633

The problem was keeping him up. He should have been sent back and had a fresh start next year with dev camp and a full training camp + preseason play.

I have wanted him to be a sabre coach ever since that night

(looks at habs in the standings)

- homiedclown

Well, he obviously has deficiencies as well, seeing as how he got canned during the season the Pens ended up winning the Cup.

I think he will be fine hes young and not NHL experienced yet. that being said I really feel we should of sent him back to the Q this season though.

The Q would do nothing for him and he isn't quite ready for the bright lights. If only there was a league in the middle for a player to develop...

Coffey was 23 when he won his 1st in 84/85 so that statement is skewed IMO.

Honestly, this is a move that has Darcy's name written all over it.

Doesn't matter. Even if they get him, Ruff is still the coach, so this team will still look the same.

"Therrien coached the Canadiens for three seasons, taking them to the Eastern Conference semi-finals in the 2002 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

During the 2006–07 season, he coached the Penguins to one of the most successful single-season improvements in NHL history, finishing with a 47–24–11 record (105 pts), a berth in the 2007 Stanley Cup playoffs, and a nomination for the Jack Adams Award, as the NHL's best coach. The following season, the Penguins under Therrien made it to the 2008 Stanley Cup Finals, ultimately losing to the Detroit Red Wings in six games."

pretty impressive

Yeah. But he got fired the year after he got the Pens to the first Stanley Cup finals.
