John, quarter pole refers to the last 1/4th of a race, not the first.

In fairness, a lot of people use that term to designate the first 25% of something.

I think morning skates are good for one thing, to let you know who is playing tonight.

From the looks of this morning skate, the #Blackhawks are going to have a tough time tonight. Can't make two straight passes.

ahhhhh, the old Soviet trick of playing possum by pretending you can't hit the broad side of a barn that's ten feet away. Interesting.

I have a bad feeling about this. Like people have said, their big and slow D would be the key for the Hawks to take advantage of with their speed, but the 1st game back from a long road trip is usually a "trap" game. I picture their passing off all night. I say Ducks win 5-1.

That is not talking down to people, that is adding perspective. Some are getting too sensitive. I cleaned up my act. If you disagree, then so be it.

Nah, I don't mind having someone police. He and I agree and disagree at times and express it so. Hockey is a contact sport, so hockey blogging can get a bit rough too...

yeah the ducks have playing well....despite Perry's slow scoring start: 1 goal and 5 assists. Don't want to see him get it going tonight even though he is on my fantasy team....pick it up later

Let's hope Montador is recovered and cleared -- so he can be bought out.

That guy is a penny away from not remembering how to lace up his skates. At least Rozsival is a competent D-man, capable of simplifying the game and playing within his abilities.

Montador OTOH, doesn't have a clue in that regard. Thinks he's Bobby Orr and shows us his Bozo the Clown act instead.

It's a lot like the ongoing debate over our first line LW. His high profile is fine . . . as long as the team is winning.

One thing I APPRECIATE about McDonough is the size of his ego and the resulting commitment to winning another Stanley Cup. No matter what his motivation is, I firmly believe he, Scotty, Stanley all desperately want to win another Cup so they can have their names on it (figuratively speaking) and not Tallon's.

Now, that said, wanting it and being able to get out the way of what's necessary to get it, are two different issues.

>JJ, think that this year's team has so far been able to transcend any potential
"McD" effect
>Rocky's demeanor during the lockout has solidified Chicago as a top, if not THE top NHL destination for players again -- and the play of this year's Hawks reinforces that
>I've been a sometime doubter of Q and SBow, but I am very impressed with the commitment of such a young roster to play team hockey and stick to their roles
>The team chemistry is special right now, so the suits will "ride" it for as long as they can -- and why not?
>No doubt, if and when the "roster tweak" is needed it could mean a Cup or no Cup -- but this red-hot start really helps SBow deal from a position of strength

Please. See you took your little shot. You're still here.

And if you were banned previously, go see a mod. I never asked for a ban on you. I save that for serious idiots.

If he's healthy, I have no issue with him practicing with the club. He could be a nice depth option down the line.

I believe JJ has tough skin, but has to balance between the entertainment/informational element of the comments with the board quickly spiraling into a bunch of bickering. In my opinion he does that not to insulate himself from criticism and looking bad, but rather to keep the board from becoming his the OK corrall, where he sits there with a 6 shooter picking off everyone. It is a delicate professional balance that must be maintained. And hence why I would not do well in this endeavor.

I give Bowman credit for shoring up the defense—and as I've pointed out in the past—adding a lot of guys who block shots (Oduya, Brookbank, Rozsival) to go with Seabrook and Hammer.

The team's patience with Kane appears to have paid off, but we are talking 12 games and a couple of fluky goals as part of his total. As we know with Kane, longer term behaviors need to be observed.

But anyone planning a parade needs to slow down. Lots of hockey left. And regular season success does not necessarily always translate to playoff success.

To your last point, again, if there's an opportunity out there to tweak the team for the better, they should take it. Because this team has a real shot.

From all the Ducks I fear the "Finnish Flash" most. Great to see him doing so well but let´s hope off night to Teemu this time though. Amazing player and such a class act he is.

Thx, I'm a human being like anyone else and sometimes, my feelings get the best of me in my remarks.

People I will actively try to get banned are the ones who appear to come here with an agenda to cause trouble. There have been 3-4 I can recall. One is gone permanently. Another will probably be soon enough (currently on a temporary ban).
