This is my favorite about this team so far.

It's definitely one among a list of things so far:

1) Deep D
2) Rolling 4 lines
3) Better Goaltending
4) Stars being your stars
5) Better depth and scoring from the bottom 6
6) Continued development of some of your younger guys (Leddy, Shaw, Krueger)
7) Oh yeah and PK; PP could be better but how many of us were lamenting last year about if the PP were even middle of the pack how much better the team would be.

Well, not the first time that's happened.

Not surprised. I enjoy when Barry's in and since McNeil's been back on, hockey actually has a footprint on Chicago sports talk radio.

Rozner is the best . Most hated man in the history of Vancouver. He's hilarious. Rozner and McNeil do bring the Hawks up a lot but the truth is more hockey fans need to call the score. A lof of hockey fans text 67011 but if we want hockey on the air more we simply need to call more. FWIW

Typically, although Dan's a great guy, I don't listen to those guys because the lack of hockey knowledge on that station drowns out the few guys who do have some.

#3 is because of #1 and #8, one of the keys I mentioned in the offseason. Overall Crawford has not had to be great, just good, to win. And that's a formula for success with this roster.

I love when he sticks it to Nucks fans.

I used to listen to NHL Network on Sirius/Xm. When I got a new car I had the trial period and called in to continue my subscription when it ended. Invariably and this is the thing that drives me nuts about satellite, when I called customer service I was dealing with Peggy in Siberia who couldn't merge my subscriptions to one account because even though Sirius and XM have merged they are somehow different and kept that way from an accounting standpoint. I also asked for NHL Network and was on with Peggy for over an hour. When my new subscription downloaded I didn't have that channel and don't have the patience to call back.

Dare I say it, but the last time I saw the Hawks backcheck like this was the year....well, you know. Even then, it was mostly Hossa and Madden. This team seems to have everyone buying into the system, even Kane in spurts.

Good luck today guys. Should be a great game. Sadly I'm pretty sure the hawks will win this one. The ducks have looked terrible in their past two games against the stars and blues. But who knows, maybe the few days of practice have paid off.

One move for a second line center sets this team up perfectly - Stalberg moves up to the first line, Saad down to 3rd, and Bolland back to the third center.

I don't get it with half of you guys with this McCub stuff. What the heck do you expect this club to do? No marketing, no advertising? Every club in every sport trumps up their players....... They are supposed to hype up their prospects to the fan base. We get it most of you guys don't like McDonough, but he has had a hand in making this franchise profitable again. That probably makes him look good in the head honchos eyes, so I don't think he is going anywhere soon.

This guy seems to be made of the finest glass. I like his size and his calmness with the puck. Compliments our bottom pair well if he stats healthy.

The point is this droe, why is this goof in One Goal commercials and commercials that are to be marketing the players. I have a hunch he is a suit that makes Stanbo's job more difficult. Sharp will never be moved, not bc of his contract, but he is a Mcdouche marketing tool. If McCub as you call him sticks to marketing and lets the hockey people make the hockey decisions, I have no problem with him. A friend saw him speak in my hometown of Edison Park which is also Mcdouche's and he told me that McD was taking a lot of credit for winning the cup. Thats the issue.

Got tix tonight! Looking forward to seeing this teams speed in person. It should be magnified against Anaheim's defense.

I've dropped the cautious part of optimism with this team. Consantly waiting for things to go sideways isn't much fun, though from a journalistic point of view, it's the smart thing to do. It never looks good to get too high and you can always say I told you so when the eventual slump hits. Win/win.

The Hawks are good and more importantly, they're good in a comparative sense. That will be the thing to remember most when they do eventually lose a game or two in regulation.

Anyone see Burnside mention Crawford for Team Canada next winter in his recent article? That gave me a good laugh.

Profitability is less a factor. What his role appears to be, which is what everything in life is now, is public relations. It is simply putting a smiling face on everything to broaden the appeal. For better or worse it is his job/role. As to the guy being a narcissist A hole there is enough empirical data to draw that conclusion.

Just like in pro sports, when the era of big arenas came and the cheap parks and barns many of us loved and could afford 20 years ago, are now gone. It is what it is. I can naturally understand and empathize with JJ and many of you the frustration of dealing with the fair weather crowd and the bandwagon.

All things being equal, I just love my team and enjoy watching them battle and compete. The characteristic of compete is one of the things that I think die hard/old school Chicago fans always appreciated, respected and expected from their teams. We can accept not winning so long as we saw the effort and energy.

I still have my little metal blackhawk ring I got as a souvenir back in the late 70's when I was a young kid attending my first game. It remains one of my favorite childhood treasures.

Just walk around the 100 level, how many of those people are true fans through the tough days and how many of them are rich jags with their 24 year old girlfriends that their wife doesnt know about. Weeknight games are the best games to talent search by the way.

Gem from last year against the Ducks:

Tonight is a great night for me sports-wise. Champions League soccer followed by the Hawks first home game in a few weeks against a good Ducks team.

Quiet signing...but have to give Bowman and co. credit. Both Both 32 and 17 have solidified the bottom 6/depth spots.

As I turn over a new leaf, I will politely disagree. While politics plays in any social dynamic, this is simply way overblown. Patrick Sharp is exactly what you want as an owner. You have a guy who came here and cut his teeth on some bad teams and took lumps and was an important piece of you getting over the hump and back to relevance. Now you don't get a lifetime of carte blanche for that, but your true fans identify that with the guy. Even though many like to forget the growing pains endured. Loyalty is important in any winning organization.

Besides all the hype on marketing, what will you gain by trading Sharp? You don't think 29 other teams would not love to have the guy? Teams draft every spring to find a guy who can be like him. For all his strengths and weaknesses, the guy is a huge net positive.

So are some suggesting that we move Sharp and contract, all his production and club house influence to gain.....? A guy that hopefully does not disrupt the room, scores 3 more goals on average and maybe ends up with 50 more body checks? This is what I do not get.

At the end of the day, if there is a fall out, or production falls, then hockey decisions will be made, this is not baseball. Until then I think many over play this marketing influence. All marketing annoys me and many of you and most of it is so dumb ed down it becomes offensive to people with higher intelligence or knowledge of a situation. JMHO
