they wont be.

they got that kid from the ECHL loaned to them to back up Owuya

Drew MacIntyre is his name.

good move by Nonis.. scrivens will be fine.

Exactly. Might not hurt to try and find a veteran on the cheap.

If Reimer gone longer than 2 weeks, sign Conklin to a 2 way?

dont start predicting when the leafs will draft.. lots of season to go yet.

Exactly...I'm not sure Monahan can drop all the way down to the 30th pick.

Sparks is still in the OHL...they would have to sign him to an ELC first, I think.

I guess they've made their minds up and its Rynnas/Scrivens.

9 games in the next 16 days. Im not confident in that pairing. Hope they can handle it.

he's only a loan.. which means as soon as reims is back he's gone.

which means no cap hit.

reports are 7-10 days for reimer .. no need to make a move.. with the team finally buying into carlyle's system and keeping the shots to the outside and low risk i think scrivens is more than capable..

obviously, so does leafs management, or they wouldnt of gone with these two heading into the season in the first place.

And really, why not? It's a good time to asses whether their continuing long term investment in these guys, especially Scrivens, is worthwhile.

Dont care much for Cap hit. Enough to spare right now.

Should have went more veteran with a lot of games in a short span coming up.

I dont disagree, but we should also not forget every point counts and we should be doing what we can to make the playoffs. We're already giving Scrivens and Reimer that shot, but now that one is hurt we shouldnt be throwing a guy who isn't ready yet into the mix. If this were March and we're 6 points out and in 11th, then yea it's a no brainer.

Not entirely true, he can be called up on a emergency basis, if he is not signed, the team can sign him to an amateur, one-game try-out contract.

He'll go fith of sixth, if we drop that far obviously finding a temporary goalie to play a start or two is the least of our worries

True...but with Scrivens and they way he's played for most of this season, it's less of a risk than say Rynnas. Rynnas will likely not see a game in the next couple weeks, unless its against Florida next week.

Yea, lots of games in a lot of nights coming up. Im not so much worried about Scrivens as I am Rynnas. Both are a concern, do doubt, but Rynnas was brutal in his only time with the Leafs and I don't feel hes ready, even if for a couple of games.

well.. they're going with scrivens

for the best imo. he won his last start and saved the day last game. you need to reward that kind of play.

besides.. they are only saying reimer will be out for about 4 games.. and no, i am not buying into the media's twist on the story that the leafs are under-stating it.

all they're doing is trying to get hits.

so for 4 games.. scrivens / rynnas is fine by me.

He will see time, probably a couple of games. 9 games, 16 nights two back to backs which are a 3 games in 4 nights gig.

really? hmm.. didnt know that.

ok.. a different look

why do that to have him back up owuya for a week? leave him in juion in his starters role.

i just agree with how nonis handled this 100% is all i guess i am trying to say

Im not buying the 4 games. The guy could barely stand. You dont bounce back that quick. I hope im wrong, but Im not buying it. Im also not saying Scrivens should start most of the games, just that the team should have a vet backing him up and ready to take over if he can't handle it. Like I said, we're in a playoff race...not 8 games out with a month left.
