Mid-to-late first and a decent(not grade-A) prospect? Ok. You know he's an NHLer, you know he can pich in on the to line if needed, and you know as a strong defensive centre, he's always going to be useful. He's basically a better-in-every way version of Bozak.
But when you start talking about multiple firsts, and top prospects... Bad idea. - Feeling Glucky?
Yeah, that sounds about right. I'd give a top ten protected pick (just incase we totally fall off the map) and a decent prospect (aka Reilly) for him. But that's about the ceiling for me. I mean that also depends on what his salary demands are. People are saying $5mil and I would pay him that but for two years? five? Or does he want $7mil? The length and cost of the contract has to be figured into what to give up in a trade, IMO. |

Have to keep the Chernobyl chicken supply safe, where else are you going to get a chicken for .59 cents a pound that has three wings and four legs?

Rielly is a "decent" prospect?
Rielly is more than a decent prospect.
Not sure trading our top prospect who has an unbelievable ceiling would be a good idea
Especially when he's anywhere for a "Legit young number 1 C or a third line center" |

Look up who's making 5 million in the NHL.
I'm not surprised O'rielly will get something about that. - jbold
We have one of the best comparables on this team....50-60 pt two-way forward earning 5+ million per year....

Rielly is not a "decent" prospect, he's a top prospect, and if he reaches his potential, he could have a much bigger impact than O'Rielly.
By "decent" I mean a guy like McKegg, Ross, Biggs, Percy, etc.
And given the quality of this draft, I'd still question giving up a 1st. |

Last few playoff spots might come down to shootouts, pretty pathetic if that is how it is decided but that is the way the NHL wants to go. |

The Leafs, however, are also improving their chances by winning games in regulation or OT. In the event of ties, the first tiebreaker is regulation+OT wins...good on them for staying clear of shootouts. Downside, is that they're also losing their games in regulation, and aren't accumulating the loser points they may need to stay clear of said ties. |

I really think it wouldn't be a bad idea to see if any veteran goalies are still UFA's out there. Really not sold on Rynnas coming up, and I also think Reimer is more likely out 2-3 weeks than just the one we were hearing. |
