But JVR sucks because he's over 6"2" but doesn't smash guys through the glass every game. I'm much rather have him not scroing but playing physical than score all those goals.  |

You need to realize that before this season, JVR was under performing, not being physical and was as inconsistent as they come. Now, he's playing great, but nothing in his past suggest it will last.
I'd be cautiously optimistic in his case. |

I agree...... when did I say it would??? All I'm saying is it's wilding moronic to criticize the guy (while he's playing well) because he's not pulverizing the other teams with hits. He's playing like we hoped (better ever) he would when we got him.

You're right, 21 year old centers who play wonderfully defensively while putting up 55 pts to lead their team (while playing in a shutdown role) aren't worth 5mil....
The Leafs don't need talent like that.

I think at least one other team will offer a very strong deal.
I would go after him, for sure. I am just not sure how far I would go. Right now, the Leafs could be in a sell high position with some Dmen. I don't think believe that will always be true as I expect that some are playing over their heads.
