Unbeliebable how that record has stood for 37 years, not even Gretzky or Lemieux broke it. I think they may have had a few 8 point games. Though I agree with u on how powerfully offensive TB is. With Stamkos, St. Louis, Vinnie & the rookie Conacher all blazing, one of them could have a chance at the record.

I may be wrong but Bernie Nicholls had a nine point game.

Am I allowed to be enjoying this recent run where they have kicked the living poop out of teams? Having everything fire on all cylinders? Or should I go back to hoping for another top 5 pick?

Well there you go. Just goes to show......

When he was acquired he wasn't supposed to be that. He's a big skilled guy, who is young. that is what he has been.

- burn

Yup, a guy who is 6'3", was acquired so he can not use his size in all areas. Great. Somewhat defeats the purpose of acquiring a "big body" if he's only going to use it part time.

But I guess 6th in goals in the league isn't good enough.

13 games. Pro-rate Vanek's numbers. Better than Crosby?

One of 13 players to have an eight point game.

Whatever you choose will be met with resistance.

I said he isn't playing tough enough or big enough along the boards given his size. Didn't say anything about him not going to the net.
- Two_For_Truth

Uggie, how hard could it be to name 20 teams?

20 teams where Phaneuf isn't the second best defenseman. If that's too hard, just 20 where he isn't #1. Shouldn't be difficult if he's half as bad as you claim.

C'mon. This shouldn't be hard for the world's smartest know-it-all. Come on, Dr. Uggie.

Keep telling yourself that.

He's not going to either, that's not his game.

He is what he is.....He's more of a skill guy than a PF. I have no issue with it. If he's scoring and producing who (frank)ing cares if he's not playing like a 6'3" Beast?

Problem was Ron Wilson made him a lot worse than he really was.
- Two_For_Truth

Agreed. If u look at this season how much Kadri, & Frattin have improved, especially Kadri. I indeed blame Wilson. I also blame Wilson for messing up Schenn & Gustavsson.

It's not his game because he's brittle and he knows if he hits too much, he'll break.

Bozak is a #1 center. Why? Because he plays the most minutes.

Waste of natural gifts.

Yeah, who cares if big players don't use their size advantage.

Tell Cody Franson he doesn't have to hit anybody either while we're at it.

No, he isn't. Why? Because I can name 30 better centers. But we all know that.

Now do the same for Phaneuf.

While a top 5 is never a bad thing, winning is sooooooooooo much sweeter.
If the Leafs continue to play well & make the playoffs, would any Leaf fan have the guts to say they would rather have had a top 5 pick over succesfully making the playoffs?
