You know what success is for van Riemsdyk? Being healthy and being consistent for 82 games. van Riemsdyk has been healthy for 13 games before. He's also scored in bunches in 13 games before. That's nothing new or special. The reason why the Flyers traded him is because he couldn't do it for 82 games. And that's the real test worth waiting for. And if he can actually play like he should given his size because even now that he's scoring, he's nowhere near physical enough along the boards.
I've said this before, when they traded Schenn, they traded a guy with a great attitude who had things in his game that were easy to fix. Especially if they gave him a chance with the new skating coach and Carlyle instead of that moron Wilson who did more damage than he did good. Having a guy with those defensive and physical tools would have been huge in the long run. What they got in return was a guy who had character issues and health issues. That's harder to correct. They also got a guy who has size but doesn't use it as often as he should. Same problem as Franson. - Two_For_Truth
Wilson is the worst coach in the history of anything ever. Also Fraser > Schenn. I'll take JVR and have him never put up a point just to have his potential.
I just heard that the top 2 goalies this year trained with Francois Allaire over the summer and lockout...where have I heard that name before? - robin_steele264
The plug that tried to Make Reimer a "blocker" instead of the athletic goalie that he is?

How do you muster up just enough happiness every day to not want to kill yourself?

On the one hand, you say Wilson is the worst coach of all time who forced Schenn to play in a defensively irresponsible system and on the other you say Schenn is worse than a career AHLer who is benefiting from playing under a defensive coach. Something doesn't add up there.
You'll take a player who scores no points just to have potential. That's amazing. Ever hear the phrase, better to have one bird in hand than two in the bush?

Read what is there. I said he's at worst a #4 defender. Give him a coach who isn't Ron Wilson and get him to focus on his skating rather than getting bigger every year and he's a lot more than that.
It's also funny how you have already knighted van Riemsdyk as a top line winger after 13 games. Just call him Cam van Riemsdyk or Wendel van Riemsdyk like you want to. - Two_For_Truth

Scrivens loved Franky. That's why he's going to steal the show now that he has the chance.
