Wait!!!

Has anyone considered that Kipper and Reimer are different ages?

If they were the same age, everything else would be the same.

But its different now.

Or the drugs they are taking right?
I guess that's somewhat true, Sundin was notorious for healing quick....hmmmm, maybe he was on HGH?

wanna know whats happening to gardiner?

see kadri: last two seasons.

gardiner all wowed us with his offensive game and skating but his defensive game is flat out deficient and it shows under carlyle's systems

gardiner probably wont get much of a look this year UNLESS liles gets hurt.. next year at the earliest.

i'll go one step further

rielly (for you nutbars who think he will be wearing the leafs sweater next year or the year after) wont make the leafs for another 3 years after this one. 1 more year of junior and two years of AHL pro.

this is of course barring injuries.

- Dozzer

No, Gardiner was great before the injury...it has nothing to do with defensive deficiencies. He is going to need time to recover. Had not been for the injury, Gardiner would be up with Leafs pulling in big minutes.

As for Rielly....he'll be in a leaf jersey within the next two years if all goes well.

only dif is, he will get the pro treatment.

and id IMAGINE he has very strong leg muscles (stronger than ours)..

so 2 weeks seems about right.

- big_dion

If his is a grade 1 then he'll be quicker to heal ...and they'll have him on ultrasound and laser. Fingers crossed.

I'd call it a short memory because Rynnas has come up before and wasn't that great.
- Two_For_Truth

Rynnas has come up before and wasn't great, neither were the Leafs under Wilson....So once again your clueless....and looking for something to female dog at. It's not like he's going to get a start if Reimers back in a week or so. He might get one start and perform just fine.
We've consistenly seen your predictions and their worth about as much as 2 tits on a pole

Just look at Kiprusoff. One week turned into three. And Kiprusoff is an extremely athletic goalie who is far more flexible and mobile than Reimer is.
- Two_For_Truth

Im sure its been said but I am not caught up:

Reimer is 23
Kipper is 37

(Doesn't mean he will bounce back better but hopefully youth helps)

I hope they give Reimer two weeks just to be safe. Ease him back in. Last time he came off of injury he obviously wasn't ready, he got rattled and then went into a spiral. This obviously isn't nearly the same degree of an injury but I still hope they take a cautious approach with him. As long as Scrivens is even remotely good it seems like our offense will be able to carry us for a bit.
- deerow84

Scrivens is still the same goalie that let in 3 goals through his first 2 starts. Faultered to the Islanders infront of a tired squad but then came back with a solid 3-2 win over the Caps.

Backup goalies are supposed to be there for situations like this. And thats what I see Ben Scrivens as, a good backup goalie. He's 27, it's not like he's still developing. He's getting close to his ceiling, he just lacks NHL experience.

He'll be fine. Just don't get bent out of shape everytime he lets in a goal.

Strained MCL is good news.

Given time, it will heal. I was worried about the groin injury. We have seen how that can be really problematic and nagging and never really go away.

- Aetherial

I had this injury, I play goal and it felt fine after 2 weeks. Really swelled up though he'll be back on the ice probably about a week and half. Once he's confident in his knee he'll be good to go.

how much older is kipper than reimer..

god you have the dumbest comments daily lol

- big_dion

Ya I would think age will play a big part.....plus they aren't the exact same injury on the exact same person.
I said Reimer will miss 2 games last night...its now looking like 3.

So Scrivens will be tested...going up against the Canes and Sens...those are going to be tough games.

Gardiner is only ? because of the injury...once he fully gets his head back in the game...he'll be fine.
Rielly will get a shot with the leafs next training camp.

dude.....how do you judge such a thing as flexability (unless you are a medical proffesional).....one is 36 and the other is 24......there are alot of factors that go into a rehab and clean bill of health.

- robin_steele264

And further, has anyone considered that a guy's MCL really has nothing to do with a goalie's flexibility?

Or do we all think that Kipper resists forces that would push the knee medially much better than Reimer?

I don't watch a lot of Flames games, but I've never really seen that.

Kipper bends his knees the wrong way in his pre-game stretching routine.

STATIC Stretching routine.
