When I read that list of dman (last page of current blog), nothing inspired me to say, yeah they got the defence position covered, imo.

It was quite the inspired list

They added Marc-Andre Bergeron, I mean Justin Schultz, for their defense as well...
- p_zub

Now that's funny... Leafs fans were drooling at the idea of adding Schultz to the fold.

Yeah, but shortly after he signed with Edmonton, we realized we were wrong.

Turns out we never wanted him.

Bust.

I don't know. Yakupov will be awesome either way. Guy is 18 years old, he already has 5 goals, 2 of them OT game winners

The Leafs are allowing more goals per game than the Oilers again.

I (frank)in wish we got Schultz! But that's a whole different world now. Too much has happened since then.

We wouldn't know who Kostka is. Franson would probably still be in limbo. Gardiner and Schultz would most likely be our top pairing right now but getting scored on all the time.

What this team really needs is the best player in the world.

Again, I feel the need to clarify this fairly obvious fact:

Yakupov is a good player. He's a great prospect. He is not what the Oilers needed and they could have flipped him to a team like Columbus starving for star power and relevance.

So maybe they need to trade one of their young stud forwards to fix their blueline.

So what? We had a replacement for him all along in Franson...only Franson is putting as many points in way less ice time.

I think they just need to keep doing what they're doing. Young goalies just needed to get going and the team is really coming together at both ends of the ice.

Yeah, uh also have scored 11 more, despite the Oilers apparently having the 6 best offensive players to ever play the game on their team.

They also have a better goal differential and more points.
