as someone that has had enough concussions in my lifetime but has never played hockey, i would think 3 weeks is fair. it could take a little while but he'll be fine. it could be that effects haven't worn off or that he needs to re-up his conditioning again, but i'm not worried.
- FIREonICE

It could be that they're taking their time with him too since the team has been doing just fine. No sense in rushing him back. It's just scary when a guy like Foligno says it's the worst hit he's ever seen.

Yea I think Jones is better but CBJ needs scoring, plus they just drafted Murray, I wonder if they will trade out of the 1st spot........
- sbroads24

They beat the Sharks today. At this rate, we'll have a higher pick than they will.

Even if the defense was decent right now, he's still a player you take. They could always package a few guys together to try and get another guy that could help in the forward ranks. Jones is going to be a cornerstone franchise guy. He's gutsy and he's got the skills. The WJC was really his coming out party. It was fantastic to watch.

I'd take Nathan MacKinnon for the Sabres. It's more difficult to find a franchise center which the Sabres haven't had since LaFontaine. If I was a team that already had a top line center then I don't hesitate in drafting Seth Jones. In my opinion you can win with solid D you can find later in the draft, sign via FA and trade for, but it's much more difficult to find a franchise center. The Sabres show us that every day.

I really enjoyed the way the kings played during their playoff run,

I thought the pens flyers series was a joke. Could barely call it hockey

- Putzfrau

Hmmm, I thought pens-flyers was must see TV...the Kings played an honest game, but I found it pretty boring more times than not.

So you're saying you're giving up on Grigorenko already, and Hodgson isn't good enough either.

Got it.

So, that means it doesn't matter that Myers, Leo and Sekera are all minus players right now? Because they're on a crappy team?

That logic makes absolutely no sense. At all.

It's apparently ok to be a bad player on a crappy team. Got it.

- HonkFortheGoose

You're twisting what I'm saying
Giordano was an even player last year
Iginla was a -10 last season, is he a bad player?
I could site a million examples of good players that have crappy +/- numbers on bad teams

If Giordano is a guy u don't particularly like, fine
But +/- doesn't come anywhere close to telling the whole story
I know you know that

I didn't know, so I looked, and it looks like they both play for Halifax. Not sure if they play on the same line though. I would think they do, but I don't know for sure.
- HonkFortheGoose

hey nail and galy were linemates and both went in top 3. both look pretty good for the teams they are on.

Yeah I understand I might be the odd one out with the pens flyers thing.

I love the way the blues play too, and Nashville. Guess I like boring hockey

You're right. I do know that.

However, you're the one that just said that it doesn't matter when most of the team is in the minus column. Well, I hate to break it to you, but we currently have 10 players that are minus, and 5 that are plus. The rest are all at 0. That's pretty much the definition of a crappy team.

Nail played pretty much an entire season without Galy though because of Galy's knee injury.

I know people who thought the Flyers-pens was over the top too, I just liked it. I like hockey plenty, but it can also be like watching paint dry at times...not the Pens-Flyers series.

so luke adam is pretty much done with the sabres? the guy has size, speed, and a great wrist shot but he might not have the head for the game. what do you all think?

As of right now they have three top10 picks
I'd guess they'll just take the best available talent unless there's a guy on particular they really like & wanna trade up for

So, what you're saying is you're settling for the 12th pick in the draft who was passed over by 11 other teams and a center who will max out as a 2nd line center? We've had plenty of 2nd line centers and players drafted 11-13 in the draft (Stafford, Marek Zagrapan) Got it.

So because they weren't drafted in the top 5, they're no good.

I guess Giroux, Kesler, and Getzlaf are all bums as well.

EDIT: I forgot about Datsyuk and Zetterberg as well.

Yeah I should have been more clear. I used the word small but I should have really just said their all more finesse players. They seem to play small, dont have any physical component to their game, which isnt necessarily a bad thing. I just don't know if the three of them would work out as well as it seems on paper, but I'd certainly give it a shot.

I've also barely seen armia play, so...

- Putzfrau

Gotcha
Grigorenko did actually have a physical component to his game in juniors, in time that'll come around here
Armia might not be a stand in front of the net guy, but he's no stranger to driving to the net & is really good along the boards... He's also added 20 lbs since being drafted... I'm really excited for him to get his butt over here after his team is done in Finland
