Never said they should take Orr out of the line-up. Just saying having Brown in the line-up only makes them tougher and more versatile.
- Two_For_Truth

Don't take MacA out just to put Brown in.. It's no secret that i'm a MacA defender but when the Leafs are down a goal Brown is no good to us.. Kadri and MacA have some nice chemistry now and theres plenty of toughness.

Can you name me a pest that had their way with us this year?

NOTE: This is the 4th time I've asked you this question.

- Pen15

I think the better question is name the "rat" players the Leafs will face.

fair enough, but move him at the deadline then.. not now.. brown can rotate in and out on the 4th.. move mac once lupul is back

moving mac now doesnt make sense if you are looking for a nice return, will get a far nicer deal closer to april 5th.. and by then lupul should be back as well.

brown can hang out in the press box and rotate with mcclaren and orr

Exactly.

not really sure what you're going for here - putting Komarov on Grabo's line makes it MORE of a checking line than when McClement was there.

Suggesting swapping 2 checking players had anything to do with the offensive explosion that came mostly from the other 2 lines and the defense is a bit of a stretch... unless you were referring to Orr?

- Big_Lightnin

The point I was making is that MacA on the 3rd line is more effective than having a guy like Komarov (as he was there previously), or McClement, or Brown (as some have suggested on here).

MacA, moreso than any of the other 3 players listed above provides a scoring touch and makes the 3rd line more offensive on a team that needs to maximize on it's scoring depth.

Sure looked a whole lot worse than that. Like he tore something.

Picked Scrivens up in fantasy as a buy low/sell high candidate just in case.

- hereticpride

No one can pin point exactly what it is, I hope Scrivens can hold down the fort.

13 games. Great sample size.

Right, so you're clearly admitting your hypothetical hasn't happened (and won't happen).

Thanks for coming out.

I think if Kadri can improve his faceoff to at least a consistent 45%, he can be our answer to the top line C question next year.

Sign Perry, hand have one nasty-ass team.

Perry-Kadri-Kessel
Lupul-Grabovski-JVR
Frattin-Bozak-Kulemin
Komarov-McClement-Orr

he's 44.8% now, and that's after going 22%tonight.

he's getting better. Other than getting owned by the Canes and Bruins, he's been more than adequate. 80% against WPG and Caps, 58% against Habs.

he's getting better.

They have to make some trades tho.. As much as i like this line-up, they need to make room for the guys who are out

Yes, because 13 games is the same as 48. Or 82. If it doesn't happen in 13 games, it can't ever happen. Outstanding logic.

ok, but the whole Brown thing came up with the initial assumption being that Mac will be traded when Lupul comes back.

And we've faced about half of the ones in the East within the first 13 games.

And 0 of them have gotten off on us...

Sorry, had to finally answer the question you were avoiding.

Those last few seasons before the previous lockout was the last time you could say the Leafs had any real team toughness. No one got excited about playing those Leafs. Hopefully we're starting to see a little bit of that emerge.

during the pregame skate all mcclaren or orr has to say to guys like that is

"coach gave me to okay to instigate if you guys get out of line"

and then just grin.

- Big_Lightnin

But even if he is traded when Lupul comes back (which I highly doubt if they continue to play like this), that doesn't mean Brown or McClement should be playing on the 3rd line.
