You are correct. Brown is a good middleweight, but MacLaren is a heavyweight. He also hits like a truck. They may keep Brown around, just incase they need an injury fill in. Steckell, however, is in the same boat as Komiserek. Some team, needing depth, will make a pitch for both of these players. Another 10 games and both of these players will probably gone.
- PrinceLH

Lets hope.

Steckel and Komi are redundant now for this team.

Brown does just fine when he fights. The Leafs still need a middleweight type of guy because there are a lot of guys out there who play like Lapierre that won't fight guys like Orr.
- Two_For_Truth

problem is those guys tend to play 3rd line minutes. Don't want Brown on the 3rd line.

Frattin's pretty strong. Maybe Orr needs to give him some scrapping lessons...

what we really need to do is inject Kulimen with angry sauce

What's a fair return you'd think we would get for him?
- Tee-Dot

Shoulda traded him last year for the first, if the rumour was true.

If we can get a 2nd, let him go.

Love the way he plays and I remember quite a few said he is an ahl'er and nothing more.

That was nearly 7 straight minutes of PK time.

When was the last time you saw the ACC go insane for a PK?

I like Komorov. He's got great hockey sense. He knows when to throw the big hit and knows when to take a players number, for a later date. In Montreal, he kept Grabovski from taking a penalty, after the Habs had taken one. He's a player of great value, as he can play all 3 forward positions and is very good in his own end. Great pickup.

So a 20 goal scorer, who back checks and kills penalties is worth a 2nd in your world?

McClement can play on the 3rd line and Brown can play a shift or two on the 3rd line if and when the situation calls for it. Brown can handle more ice time if need be too. He skates just fine and hits often. As long as he cuts out the bad penalties, he's fine on the 3rd line.

We still need to hold onto him, until Lupul returns. Who knows? We may need to hold onto him, if we have any more injuries in our top 9. Nothing like having depth. Any player that we can trade, that improves the team, is an asset.

I think it was the mustache.

Brown is a hard worker and great character however he is rather injury prone, takes a few bad penalties and while he's eager to drop the gloves, doesn't exactly win a lot or strike fear into opposing players.

- OBGYN Kenobi

If this team has any visions of playoffs, they'd do well to keep some depth.

Rotate McLaren, Orr, and Brown on the fourth line. Those are some hard miles they put on their bodies. It wouldn't hurt to give each one a day off every three games.

JFJ made some great late round picks in his time. His only problem, was trading our early round picks for stiffs!

this...

though, you'll notice Orr's fighting is down since McClaren came in. Think he only has 1 fight since. (Habs doesn't count)

The point is for some rat player to avoid a fight and having nobody who can actually get him to fight?

0 points and 29 PIM.

brown is what he is. but there is certainly no need to force a guy out of the lineup just to make room for him. we all like brown.. but his play does not warrant that at all.

Didn't work for the Habs.......the rats got tagged and bagged, then put on the curb. No prisoners is a good way to play.
