FlyFreaky is cool. He's been very optimistic about our team all year. More so than a lot of fans.

And "fans".

Yup, I also like the freak man...... casting him in the same class as say a Canuck fan is downright wrong as hell......

Especially happy that Kadri got a couple points tonight. It would be a real bonus if he could keep the momentum he has going and settle into being an NHL player.

Surprised at Fraser. Is it a fluke? Is he playing over his head?

Franson has improved also.

Is it coaching that is sinking in?

- Aetherial

Fraser is playing simple, I'm still on the fence with him, Holzer penalty was a little push but the guy caught the dasher board, but still think he can be a good 6th dman.

If it is groin, I hope they don't rush him back. Would rather he miss a few games and return fully healthy. He was on a roll there.

Groin injuries also often become a recurring injury until they fully heal.

"YES! Carlyle says Reimer isn't hurt too seriously which is great because the Leafs never misjudge injuries and oh god he’s dead isn’t he..."

This is why I love DGB.

I have no idea how Gardiner ever gets back in barring a trade or injury.

There's no way Fraser clears waivers. Holzer has been decent. Kostka has leveled off and seems to be steady.

Gunnar still needs a spot, and I'm just assuming Komi is a permanent press box fixture.

The Leafs just handed out two serious beatdowns man

Reimer's been killer but Scrivens was amazing coming in cold too

But the most important thing is the team game. The Leafs are giving up a lot of shots but they are from the outside. Reimer and Scrivens aren't standing on their heads, but they're very solid. If the Leafs keep playing this whole team game combining speed with hitting they can do some damage.

Pretty good performance without Lupul and Gardiner in for most of the year so far, we've been able to bank points with major injuries, I think Scrivens can add to that now

Cody Franson has been phenomenal so far I've been really impressed with him. He's probably been our second best defenceman. He's definitely earning his ice time. And Kadri has been amazing thus far he could easily be at a point a game if he hadnt been snake bitten a couple times.

Agreed, no Luongo.

They should be looking at a goaltender like Jonas Hiller. He's lost his number 1 status with Anaheim and maybe could be had for someone like Karl Gunnerson.

I just like Fraser's attitude. He reminds me of an old school defenceman from the wild west OHL of the late 70's/early 80's - quick to step in to defend his teammates.. He's literally willing to fight for his job. He has put Komi out of a job.

Agreed, and Scrivens's play was encouraging tonight as well. But for all we know Reimer could be out for a long time. Gardiner and Gunnarsson were apparently good to go and yet they haven't played in a long time.

I think Holzer has been awesome since the recall (minus the first game)
Great size, using his body decent speed and good clearing the puck

Reimer stood on his head last game when the Leafs decided to take 20 minutes off between the latter half of the 1st and 1st half of the 2nd.

Yes but still way better than Komisarek.
- Two_For_Truth

Yes, yes he is. And he is genuinely tough. Haven't seen him take a dumb penalty yet as well.

Same can be said for Holzer.

So unlike Komisarek, both Holzer and Fraser have been consistent and solid. Some physicality. Few dumb penalties.

See dictionary - opposite of Mike Komisarek.

on a related note... when was the last time you can remember being confident of the Leafs PK on a 5 minute kill.... sure wasn't while Wilson was coach.

Until we know exactly what we have in Reimer, there's no way I'd bring in any goalie not named Lundqvist.

If Reimer gets pushed out and goes on to "Rask" us, it would be devastating.
