I think everyone sees the upside in the assets at this point. I really can't see Nonis panicking and burning the future on a poopty hamstringing albatross contract. - triggermartin
If you're Nonis, you're probably seeing that we've got a starter somewhere in the system. Getting Luongo basically kills your entire goaltender development plan.
Reimer walks. Scrivens, if he becomes something decent, walks. That's in addition to whatever ridiculous price you'd pay for Lu.
So, say goodbye to Reimer, Scrivens, and two of Gardiner, Bozak, Kadri, or Frattin.
I see the odds of the Leafs getting Luongo approaching 0%.
Leafs will run with Scrivens unless he has consecutive meltdowns. He played great tonight coming in cold for Reimer. Looked like the boys had confidence in him.

RC says they don't expect Riemer to be out for any extended period of time.
Make you wonder how stupid philly is to make that trade. - Arctic_AARDVARK
They were in big trouble on D and they needed to do something. Young highly touted guys like Schenn don't become available all the time so I sort of get it. It was a huge risk though and so far a bad one.

My prediction of this team not getting a top pick at the beginning of the season is looking pretty good so far, fab five, Frattin, Kadri, JVR, Kessel and Komarov. Hehe, kidding on the fab part but looking good.
