if he plays well for a 5 game stretch... we might be able to get rid of him for something.
- aries1976

He was a good acquisition. Good stop-gap to keep from rushing the young guys.

But they should have sold high on him last year. He's a product of his line.

I'd rather have Komarov with Kadri and Frattin right now. Komarov-Kadri will piss of so many teams

60pt players don't grow on trees you know.. Might be worth keeping him

Honestly don't see Macarthur hitting over 50 points again in an NHL season... not sure if it was a fluky season, or everything alined for him, Kulemin had a breakout goal scoring season, Grabbo was Grabbo, the PP scored, they won at home...

he could get 50 elsewhere, but think the boat has passed on him doing it in toronto again.

I said that Holzer can do what Schenn did but with less offensive numbers, Holzer may not make the big hit but he does finish his checks and angles off players, also Holzer is a better skater. I think the Leafs got the player they needed with JVR and Carlyle has him going to the net and staying there, will it last? That is the question we all are asking, consistency.

Thankfully, both guys hesitated on Luongo long enough for Reimer to change some minds.

If reports are correct, Leafs management was ready to pull the trigger on a deal for Luongo (probably involving some combo of Bozak, Frattin, or Kadri) and Burke refused to let them do it.

He was fairly sure he wanted to go with Reimer/Scrivens. We might just look back at that non-trade as the move that saved the franchise for a generation.

- Leeman4Gilmour

it was right to wait.. luongo would of been a good addition to a team on the cusp of being a cup contender.. he simply didnt make sense for the leafs at this point in time.

MacArthur is an aggravating payer seems to be at the right parts of the offensive ice.. has a lousy shot and coughs up too many breakaways.. then is absolutely soft in covering back.. I am with you the faster we can trade him and Liles the better the results will be...

Agree there, Komarov seems to be Darcy-lite.... neither scared of playing on the boards, which was cause turnovers for the opposition, Kadri has amazing creativity and hands, nothing wrong with having players will a specific skillset that's beneficial.

Sometimes it seems like that.. I strongly believe that you can't just keep trading everyone. Let the team grow with what it's got. Add players through he draft instead of trading. if the Leafs go after Perry i'm fine with that but just let this young team develop chemistry.

That one end to end rush goal of his should have been worth 22 points all on its own.

Hartnell is injured.

I keep finding it hilarious how all the media experts keep saying something along the lines of "Ironically now that Burke is gone the Leafs are finally living up to his pugnacity etc. "

Except its not ironic. This is the team Burke built. Nonnis hasnt even made a single roster move. Since Burke had to get rid of a lot crap before he could ice the team he wanted, its hard to blame him for coming up short during the building of his team.

- Aquaman_2400

largely true... except for two things.

1) Connolly - floater, lazy soft and supposed to be the 1st line center GONE!
2) Komisarek - supposed to be the tough stay at home defender and supposed to be a leader - riding the pine.

not real roster moves so I understand what you say... but bringing Fraser (done by Burke) and Maclaren and having them play - along with Orr who was apparently a victim of Wilson... has changed the nature of the roster.

You don't dump Macarthur for purely nothing, or even dump.

but a fair trade of a couple draft picks for a roster player, that can arguably be replaced without a second look, because of the development of other forwards...

I personally feel Clarke has run his course, he wouldn't be missed.

The best part was when the molasses caught up to him and checked him, but Schenn managed to get the puck back and keep going.

Good observation Atomic Luke was anything but a shutdown guy.. never seen so many tap in goals in front of the net.. and everyone was blaming the goalies who were hung out to dry.

That defence last year was atrocious!!
