You DO know that the Oilers have more points than your wild right? - ALEDDO
Um, yes. I just like to tease Richie a little. But don't get all hawdy with your whopping 2 point lead over the Wild just yet. |

Boy for being in 2nd you folks don't have much of a sense of humor today. But I'll humor you a bit, yes, I'm mad bro. Mad that we didn't get the best player in the world and had to settle for Suter and his $100 million contract. - MnGump
The only contract worse than Suter's is DiPietro's. |

is disturbing that Oiler management are still willing to gas entire season 'evaluating' talent. when does winning become a priority? not this year. that's fosho. - seanjohn667
I'm of two minds: on one hand, this is a team that could tinker for a run at 6th, 7th or 8th place by shipping MPS, prospects and picks off for veteran help, and I'm not sure they're going to do that. On the other hand, after 3+ years of making a cup contending window our goal, it's an odd time to become fixated on making a late seed playoff run this year. As I said earlier, we ought to keep ourselves in contention until the trade deadline and see what opens up to us. |

Well with the best overall player in the world in Justin Schultz, what do Edmonton fans have to worry about Richie? - MnGump

Richard Cloutier: 5-4-3 Is Not 3-4-5
"This team is doing pretty much as well as it can. Why am I the only Oilers-focused blogger who seems to understands this?"
- Maxbone
lol...are you serious? You have constantly trashed this team and some of the players that are playing well. Stop trying to break your arm patting yourself on the back for backing the team now. |

I beg to differ; Shea Weber, 14 years $110 million, $68 million in signing bonuses. Yeah, way worse. |

Moving a guy like Pajarvi who is just starting play like a power forward im not a fan of because of the low return wed get for a past 10th overall pick. As much as I like the guy, gagner is playing as well as he ever has, his trade value is as large as it ever has been, and the need for a larger #2/3 centre has never been more obvious |

Yes, Fletch has a knack for giving away our good defensive talent. ie. Leddy for Barker. Schultz for Gilby. Although he does have 3 goals for the Wild thus far. |

Im sure other teams will be falling over each other to trade us a power center for Gagner. Does anyone suggesting these Gagner trades realize how much C depth we dont have? |

Weber has 1 point in 12 games. Suter has 6 and is averaging 30 minutes a game on a new team in 11 games played. It seems as though Weber needed Suter a bit more than people realized. Either way, they are both ridiculous contracts, I don't argue that. But it is what it is. If it came down to getting both Parise and Suter at ridiculous prices or getting neither, I'm guessing there weren't too many teams that wouldn't have made the same deal.
Edit; Not to mention Weber got $44 million more in signing bonus than did Suter. |

I can't say he's impressed Wild fans all that much, but he's been decent. He does have some head scratcher decisions once in awhile. I'll give you that. |
