Their stat lines next to each other. Yea. Not arguing Boychuk looked better there. Neither are the answer though. At all.

Who wouldn't?

I like what Bortuzzo has brought. He's got a face other players just want to punch. I could see a player like Hartnell spending alot of time in the box over the course of a series because of Bortuzzo.

- canadianpenfan

Exactly why I was saying way back when that between Strait, Lovejoy and Bortuzzo, I liked Bortuzzo to stay. You guys are finally getting to see what Ive been seeing the last few years in WBS. Hes an instigating D-man who is willing to throw down, hes just not a heavyweight like Engellend. A little more polish and he'll be a nice asset to have. He just needs experience which he is getting.

Cool stats, now be real for a sec. Boychuk fits way better on this team.

I thought it was funny Boychuk has gotten more games and time at 2nd line LW than Tangradi. Neither have put up a point.

Bortuzzo will eventually supplant Engelland as a younger better version.
- Gunner Staal

I think eventually might be sooner than later... Once Niskanen and Letang are back, Engelland might find himself in the press box some nights.

Possibly. Its a good problem to have. Injuries have a way of working these things out unfortunately.

I personally wouldn't mind trading Kennedy. Dupuis or Boychuk could fill his role on that line. Kennedy is young and a RFA and I think still holds some decent value. He would be a solid addition in a trade.

Yeah, and lineup is probably short lived because of injuries.

It's amazing (knock on wood), that there haven't been any forward injuries in this first quarter of the season.

Boychuk would be a miserable third line player. There is literally nothing about his game that would make him useful in that role.

It means Giroux is not the best french canadien player in the history of the NHL? 1st Lemieux, 2nd Dupuis, 3rd Giroux and 4th Talbot..

I am afraid to say many of you run the risk of sounding like Flyers fans.

"We should just go get Iginla and Bouwmeester, it wouldn't cost that much, and then we could trade a bunch of our garbage and a 3rd for a quality player."

It's impossible to exaggerate what Calgary expects in return for Iggy. He's not only the mayor of Calgary but the all-time leader in many key categories in the history of a franchise that literally drives the economy and is the first love of every hockey fan in southern Alberta. The wives of Calgary all consider themselves married to Ig. Jerome has no idea how many Godchildren he indeed has. I think you have an idea of what I mean to say.

Still, I want him the hell out of my division. Pittsburgh is going to have to take someone like Jiri Hudler off their hands as well, and pay fair price for him. It's likely that if Iggy gets traded, it will be remembered as the biggest blockbuster of the 2010's, and the Dome may just wear black to the first home game after he's gone.

Iginla will fetch a 1st and a top tier prospect and even that's pushing it. Pens have plenty of D prospects and plenty of draft picks to grab Iginla. I'm not saying they should or they will, but the pens could put something together to grab him. I think the pens should wait til next offseason and try to make a big catch

The only thing is which D prospect? Morrow and Despres should be untouchables, roupp and harrington are suppose to be shut down D and we will need them soon, Pouliot will always be known for the player they traded Staal for, Maata is a first rounder, dumolin (sp) was just traded here...

I wouldnt put morrow at untouchable, as long as he brings in a high end winger..none of that setoguchi crap.

I think Morrow is from Alberta. He probably would be a start to a conversation. I'd rather give away Pouliot but I'm ok with letting Morrow go for a guy like Iginla but would not want to give up a 1st with him.
