agreed. And I also agree it's a transition for those guys. During all the line changing for the last 5/6 years that has been the 1 constant. But it's no excuse they all play a pretty simple game hit, cycle, shoot. There shouldn't be any panic IMO this team still has some gelling to do. Let's talk once 58 is back in the line up. I'm assuming 17/25/15 will be on waivers (2 of the 3) once 2/58 are back. I love Bortuzzo and I don't want him out of the line up. Carter sealed it for me when he said he had done some things Saturday we didn't like so we needed to let him know. That's exactly what I want from him. He's clearly getting under peoples skin and when you come to make him pay you get all you can handle.

right now bortuzzo is going to make it hard to move him. who does he beat out for a regular spot? engelland? there is no way i want despres to be sat

i thought the deadline was in two weeks... but apparently it is feb not march and we are still month out...

also with nisk and letang returning soon and boychuk being picked up.. who realistically gets moved? a D or a F?

Wait ... isn't Niskanen a 1.5 weeks away from returning, or something like that? Letang was just put on the IR two days ago, right and he is close to returning soon?

Boychuk and Reese are sent down and we're back to normal once Letang and Niskanen come back.

reports saying letang might be a game time decision tomorrow and nisk is 17 days in to a 2-4 week recovery... both practiced

Boychuk and Reese would be my guess.

Reese will be returned to the baby Pens. They've got to keep Boychuk over Tangradi. Boychuk can skate and I've seen him make some nice passes. I have yet to see Tangradi do anything that leads me to believe he belongs in the NHL.

Boychuk is gone for sure. Carolina said they would claim him if we put him back thru waivers

I've heard both players are close. They said Nisk is recovering quicker than expected. Letang was put on IR retro-active to the first game he missed. He's actually able to come back as early as tomorrow. Not saying either will be back tomorrow, but that's what the local media is saying.

Despres wouldn't leave the line up if I were coaching. Neither would Bortuzzo I'd probably trade orpik Letang and Martin for Clutterbuck and Seto

Both are useless. I'd keep Tangradi for the simple purpose of him being a good organizaton guy.

Who wouldn't?

I like what Bortuzzo has brought. He's got a face other players just want to punch. I could see a player like Hartnell spending alot of time in the box over the course of a series because of Bortuzzo.

Bortuzzo will eventually supplant Engelland as a younger better version.

The only catch is that Tangradi's organizational value only lies in being a good veteran at the AHL level.

Reese is 8th or 9th on the depth chart......emergency fill in at best. I don't think he's been horrible, but certainly not really a regular NHL player. If Boychuk can skate and pass, I wouldn't call that useless. Tagradi on the other hand can't skate, pass or shoot.....that is what I call useless.

I dont feel any more comfortable with Boychuk in there. Neither will likely be a regular in the playoffs unless injuries really ravage the team. Id just stick with the player who has been a good soldier so to speak

Boychuk has created opportunities this weekend than Tangradi has in 3 seasons.

With kennedy as part of the trade for new winger or just bought out. Kuni just needs to be back on that line. No setoguchi though. I'd love iginla the most.

2012-13 PIT 6 0 0 0 -2 2 6 2 0 0 0 0 0 6 .000
2012-13 PIT 5 0 0 0 2 0 6 1 0 0 0 0 0 4 .000

Their stat lines next to each other. Yea. Not arguing Boychuk looked better there. Neither are the answer though. At all.

Cool stats, now be real for a sec. Boychuk fits way better on this team.
