Prediction- You talk about trades everyday from now until the trade deadline (even after) and get all pissy when they do nothing- just like last year. You're setting yourself up for disappointment again.

Well when they dont happen, I just do the trades on the latest NHL game and then win the cup
And so far looking at all the trades that didnt go down, how many cups have they won??
Setoguchi sucks. He's closer to Cheechoo than he is a top 6 solution. And hes on the hook for $3 million next year. Its not going to happen. It doesnt make sense. He was demoted to the 4th line on a team that cant score.

He's got more potential than TK and Tk makes $2 mil. Would be a try out. Sometimes it works IF given a chance. He's played well with star C's.

TK doesnt have a contract next year. Setoguchi does. You dont give guys like that a "tryout".

Most observers know for a fact that Setoguchi didn't work out on Minn system and that he works well with a star C. He could do well either with Sid or Malkin. TK will NEVER do well with either. Think about it for a moment instead of saying the guy is a new TK. Cheap to acquire and could bring results.
Clutterbuck would be the main piece btw

Koivu ain't no Thornton, Sid or Malkin. "System" is the main problem. Again, he "could" do well playing for us. We'll never know but I'd rather try him than keep making the same mistake with TK. Setoguchi will never be my first option, just a guy that could be had for something we won't miss.

He can't keep up with Koivu in Minnesota. He was dealt away when he came crashing back to reality in San Jose where he ultimately flopped with Thorton and Marleau. If he is put next to Crosby or Malkin, he's hardly going to rediscover whatever black magic possessed him the one year he lit it up. He's a slower, more grossly overpaid version of TK. At 3mil a year with another year left and the cap going down, he's hardly cheap and definitely not worth whatever pieces would be required to get him.
I bet Setoguchi won't be too hard to get. TK/Tangradi or a 3rd Pick would do it.
BTW: I didn't vote for a Despres for Setoguchi trade. That would be insane. - Orpik44
Tangradi has very little value. Would have to be a throw in. Minny may consider that if you change the 3rd to a 1st. Wouldn't be willing to give up a 1st for Seto

Is TK working for us this year? Anyway, as I said, Clutterbuck would be the main piece and Seto a throw in with a respectable history of scoring goals. That could happen again in Pitts. We'd have to trade salaries for salaries that's all. A bet.

Only an idiot would give up a 1st for him. Hope you'd not do it.
