It's true. I have no clue what their plan was. Hope Jochen Hecht was going to take over the game like he's been known not to do.?
- sbroads24

He plays like he has no intention of actually scoring. He has the slowest most telegraphed shot ever.

Pegula needs to get the message loud and clear. Any ideas?
- Smittyx36

I've been thinking about this. I just dont think he and Teddy take us seriously. I dont think mock protests or paper bags, billboards will do any good. I think they view us as strictly emotional thinkers.

I think cancelled season tickets on a large scale is the only thing. It shouldnt have to come to that. Fans who waited to get them and want to support the team shouldnt have to do something like that.

It wasn't very impressive the last 2 games. I think people are starting to realize it is a system failure and not a talent issue.
- sbroads24

Seeing how this team plays in its own end most games.
I think it is safe to say it is a system problem more then a talent issue.

So true. How many times can you watch us cycle the puck backwards before we attempt to leave the zone?? Its comical.

You're going to start this crusade again? You realize that you're blaming those of us that are season ticket holders for the lack of change within the organization.

I believe this team would have been way further along today had they started a complete re-build 2 years ago.

Look at where we are.... they have a payroll that is almost maximized, a team that clearly does not listen to the head coach, a GM that gets rewarded for paying for potential, an owner who clearly not fire his coach.
The Sabres have become the laughing stock of the NHL. We are now with the Florida's, Islanders, and the Columbus's of the league.

Crusade? Im not attacking season ticket holders. Im attacking the retards who run the team. The ones who made all these wacky claims about "now" were serious about the cup, but again one of the worst teams in the league(28 place counting games at hand) but think nothing is wrong.

You got any better ideas?

You said the same stuff last season. That's why I call it a crusade. You sat there preaching to all of us how we should stop going to games and cancel our season tickets because this team isn't worth supporting and we're why they won't make changes.

Trust me, I'm just as frustrated as you are. I spend my hard earned money on this crap product. However, at some point, something will change and when it does, I want to be able to experience the good. That's why I'm not about to just give up my tickets. They're not going to be terrible forever, though sometimes it certainly feels that way.

A large scale cancellation of season tickets will clean up the 3,000 names on the waiting list.

Which will in turn encourage more people to sign up for the waiting list, since it won't seem like it will take years and years to get tickets.

and its not like they dont care. they obviously know the team isnt winning.

the disconnect is that they believe they already have the group in place that will turn it around, while we all think that something needs to change before the turnaround can happen.

if we all stop buying tickets they will still think they can turn it around and get us all back in the seats.

yeah. sylvester is getting drilled for saying ruff isnt a defensive coach though. even though its true. thats all i was pointing out.
- robz228

I've said that this team is a D first team, but the counter point to that is this:

They are an aggresisvely offensive team that allows the D to pinch and/or join in the rush. This is why there are so many odd man rushes the other way. Its not that the defense is bad it that they are always trying to be a winger (cue winger music) which requires your offensive guys to take on the defensive role if that happens.

Unless your actually scoring, that systems is terrible because it weakens your defensive structure.

The problem are that it relies too much on Miller to save your bacon, it requires offensivly gifted players to play more Defense and it allows less gifted D-men to try and score.

Eventually it will. Pegula wants to win more than he loves Ruff or Regeir. But how far back is he going to set this franchise before he realizes that? 3 years? 5 years, who knows? This organization is moving backwards.

1. When was the last time Hecht scored a goal on purpose?

2. Ray has become a total company man. Thought i was going to be sick during his pregame interview friday.

You don't get paid or move up in the world if your a habitual malcontent. Company men have stable jobs with good pay. Ray cares very little of what you think of him. He does a fine job. he is going to be a homer because he was a Sabre and he knows the players. Don't hate him for that.

I agree. At some point, he'll figure it out. In the meantime, it's horribly painful to watch. But to suggest that people stop going and everything isn't really going to change anything either. The Rigas's didn't seem to care. Neither did Golisano. Those teams were playing in front of half capacity crowds. The only thing that put butts back in the seats was that the team eventually just got good again based on different talent that came up through drafting. No major changes were made. Darcy made 2 trades that ended up being a complete steal, but nobody thought those players would have the kind of impact that they ended up having.
