I don't agree with this. I think he's just a guy who had things come too easy to him in the first place. He hasn't learned how to adjust his game to the teams that have adjusted to how he plays. It happens with goalies sometimes too. He needs to put in the work in the offseason and actually care to be better. I'm not sure that up to this point, he has done any of that.

Anyways I agree, he probably needs to work a lot harder. But that happens to young defenseman. It's on the coaches to realize that simplify the game and point him in the right direction.

The Sabres have sucked for the past 5 years.

There are only 6 players on the team now that were on the team in 2008 (Pommer, Vanek, Hecht, Steff, Sekera and Miller)

There has been a lot of turnover yet Ruff supporters always say it's the players.

Briere...former 1st Round pick who scored 32 the year before he came here.

Drury...overtime hero who had a ring.

Those two made each other millions. Ruff didn't make them better. Credit aside from the actual players should go to Regier for making those deals. Lindy Ruff had very little to do with 23 and 48 becoming stars.

Credit for Regier getting Briere should go to Larry Quinn. Darcy didn't want to and Larry made him do it. I heard it in Quinn's own voice a few years back.

Gerbe had a 17 goal season, he has no potential? Ehrhoff is living up to his potential? 2 14 goal seasons to this? Miller 28th in GAA, that is his potential? Robin Regehr? Leopold has been a top 4 guy his whole career now he is our worst defenseman

Ehrhoff is our best defenseman- I did not expect him to score like he did w the Sedins here... I don't think most ppl did

Miller is playing well considering the terrible defense in front of him

Regehr... Let's face it, he's another "Rivet" in that he's either washed up, or he can't stay healthy enough to STILL be a top4 guy

It's on both. 50/50. And at this point, it doesn't seem that either side has done what needs to be. Though I just don't buy that Patrick hasn't been working with him and trying to get him straightened out.

I would love to see you list 28 teams with better talent on defense than ours. And then you will prove that it's a talent problem, we are 28 in the NHL in GAA with a Vezina goalie, A calder winning defenseman, and a bunch of veterans that have played on good and bad teams in the NHL, compare our defense to the Islanders and tell me their better, they gave up 15 shots to us compared to 43 for them, are their forwards that much better?
