Don't try and live your fantasy's through me bro.

The problem was the wifi on the FERRY sucks and they don't let you stream anything.

I'll make an honest effort here.

The Good
Dubnyk- has played like some of us always thought he could.
Schultz - as advertised. offensive instincts to spare and surprisingly composed defensively.
Hemsky - still hate him sometimes, but resurgent.
Gagner - suck it prock.
Yak - finding his way, but this guy can score and loves the game.
Petry/Smid - asides from a few rusty gaffes, still a solid pairing.
Fistric - tough and responsible.
Winning some close games and getting at least loser points.
PK solid.

The Bad
Nuge - love him but hes off to a rocky start. dece two way play but needs to be much better offensively.
Potter - horribly inconsistent and at times just horrible.
Hartikainen - still like him a lot, but needs to stick to his role and wreak havoc every time hes out there and make the goalies life hell.
The PP - an early season mirage. scouted, adjusted to and now all but impotent. actually seems to generate chances the other way.

The Ugly
Smyth - its over.
Whitney - ugh.
Injuries - as usual. leading us to...
Depth - Horcoff and Belanger should not deep six our FO% so horrifically. Nuge and Gags NEED to be better on the dot.
Cohesiveness - none.
longbottom and that other guy

Any players not mentioned are ones that are performing as they should.

- sanfordnson

Pretty much exactly how I feel as well. I give the PP a bit more credit. As long as they're moving the puck well they have the skill set to make it work. Good puck movement and some quality one-time snipers out there. We could also use a "real" version of what Hartekainen's job is supposed to be.

I also think it is pathetic and a bit embarassing that no one addressed Jack Johnson taking liberty on our #1 star. They just went about their business like nothing happened! Jack Johnson needed to be wondering why he did that this morning...instead, he's probably on the bus laughing about it.

Well, Clouts.. were you hinting at a blockbuster yesterday as wishful thinking or did you have 'inside information' that it was going to happen?

I kind of wondered the same thing. But at the same time I can understand not wanting to take the instigator at that time of the game.

It wasn't a "liberty", it was a clean shot on a guy in a scoring situation. He got hurt by the way he fell, not from the hit directly.

Before the next puck drop Eager went out and started some poop...that was why he got a 10 minute misconduct. The refs made it clear that there was going to be nothing coming in retaliation.

Maybe Ive been going about it all wrong. They say great teams are built from the net out. So with Dubnyk playing so well, next step is to shore up the defence by acquiring Weber and Doughty for Gagner and Hemsky.

While I agree we have played shytty the last ten games, I am happy that we have gotten 11 points and there is tons of room for improvement. Remember this is a team trying to learn a new system and fitting in members in the team. You guys have said the problems with the PP and 5 on 5 scoring but do you really worry now that it's on the shoulders of Hall, Ebs, RNH, Gags, Yaks, Hemmer, Schultzx2.....etc they won't figure it out? We could be in the shoes of Calgary, Los Angelos, Washington, and Minnesota,

A Doughty on our blueline would be massively valuable.

(frank)in Schultz though. This kid is the real deal. That backchecking steal yesterday was breathtaking. Anyone slagging his defensive skill clearly hasnt watched him play enough.

I have to admit that I was one pumping Whitney. I cant beleive how badly his play has falle off. He was an all star the year he went down. They were even talking about giving him the C back then. I was confident he would bounce back once healthy. He has sucked balls this year.

So The Oil are still 2 good D men and 3 forwards short. Hope we can shore up some of these spots soon. If I'm Tambi I do not trade away our first this year, but any other combo or prospects, picks, "tradeable" roster guys, for some improvement. But dont over pay either. At least some things have become clear. Where the holes are.
