You can't tell me what I feel.
Can I also point out that about 20 of CBJ's shots came on penalties that Smyth took. Different game when the shots are lopsided cause of his stupidity.

We b*tch about certain aspects of certain players' games that need improvement both when they win and when they lose. Of course we're all stoked that we won, but no Oiler besides Smid and Dubnyk truly deserved this win. The fact that you can't stop and reflect on a team's performance as a whole and only looking at the few positives in the game is frankly disappointing. I'll lay it out for you:

Dubnyk played outstanding.

Smid played solid.

Fistric, Petrell, and Belanger played relatively well.

Petry, Schultz, Eberle, Paajarvi, Gagner, and Hartikainen played bordering on bad.

The rest of the team, including Nuge, Yaks, Hall, and Hemsky were straight bad.

Smyth was God awful.

- MaximumBone

Reflection, and female doging like Clouts on no sleep and no donuts are two different things. Hemsky was not straight bad, should be moved to the mediocre pile. And you left out the fact they improved to 50% in the dot today and were 100% on the PK. When reflecting, don't leave out all the positives and include more negatives or ya risk sounding like a Micheal Moore documentary.

No matter what his reasons, it is hurting the team. Needs to stop. NOW

Having Belanger was a big help, his line looked good and we got back to 50% in the dot. Kudos to Gagner 8/14 in the dot and the play of the night (sorry Ebs, play that counted). Nuge was 8/15. Dubnyk was ridiculous, Smid and Eager were manhandlers and MPS got on the board.

That concludes the list of positives.

Oilers were lucky to win, but better to play poorly and get 2 points than play amazing and get none.

Time to put it all together, although this should be apparent that we still need some help via trade or free agency. Also, Maybe re-jig the power play.

This!
Plus hitting the net would be nice if nuge could do that. But pretty selfless and smart play to give the puck to gags to guarantee an empty netter, rather than trying himself and maybe missing.

If you dont see what hes talking about then there's no point discussing with you. Has their glaring lack of cohesiveness, down low toughness, work ethic and anemic PP (supposedly "lethal") truly escaped you these past 5-6 games??
- sanfordnson

I never said that but how many games last year did they not get points in games such as these last season. I also see a team that should have won against Detroit last game, San Jose the second time around, and both games against Vancouver.
Last season they would have lost those games outright.

Now saying all this WE all know about as much about the game as the average fan across the league. WE all can female dog all we want about how the team plays and how the team is made up. I
am not ashamed to say that. I am not arrogant enough to come on here and female dog about wins and act like an expert.
The team is made up as the manegements see fit. Not as a fan see fit.
Half the people that fans want are not on the trade block.

This season as every season has winning streaks and losing streaks the only way to look at it is at half then at the end of the season. Not as they are on a winning streak or a losing streak.

If you cans cannot see that then there is no hope for you.

It's crazy we were 50% in the dot but gave up 40 shots against.

Their version of big picture and your version of big picture are two different things, and they dislike you because your version differs from theirs. It's tough to be an 85 year old man in todays day and age LB

Fixed. I need to proof read my work a little better. But it could also be correct because LB is 150 so could be a bit senile.

Then again what the hell do you expect for a 150 year old.....logic

That would require LB to actually own more than one cellphone and know how to set up an Alt account. Probably have to wait for his computer savvy great grandkids to come over and do it for him

After spending time in a longterm care facility last semester, I have respect for the wisdom and insight that our senior citizens have. They arent always right, but i figure living through WWI,WWII, the great depression, the cold war, the korean war, vietnam, Disco, Reagan, The clear pepsi craze and still being alive today, they must know something. That and being the oldest (frank)er in my Mursing class I see how little common sense and objectivity our youth have these days, so its nice to give someone older than me a few jabs once in a while. You are a good sport. Great Grandpa

Ya big picture The season is 48 games this year, not 6. The big picture is the Oilers scored 5x5, shorthanded and an empty net. And yet you still think the sky is falling.
Your schtick is getting old.......Junior.

All those underlines and boldfaces certainly put me in my place. You will cheerlead and find the good in the Oilers no matter what and cover your ears and stomp your feet whenever someone points out the bad. I get it.

I wont start singing their praises until I see the CONSISTENT cohesive team play out of them that we should at least be seeing some stretches of from them at this point in the rebuild. Idgaf about them "winning games they may have lost last year" or "hey we went to OT go team!" There. Are. Problems...and they are not minor. Even you should be able to take off your homer glasses and see this.
