Although i HATE boston and i am always upset when we lose to them...i am not going to get too down on the sabres for this loss. 3rd game in 4 nights and we showed heart in hanging with a well rested bruins team as long as we did.
I'd hope after yesterday's game the kaleta haters will be silenced because he showed us all just how good he can be at what he does: penalty kill and getting in the other teams head.
Vanek played WAY too little and hecht played WAY too much (i get that there was alot of PK)

Ruff was protecting his star players...
Vanek with 15:23 TOI, Pommer with 17:57, Ennis with 17:15, and Hodge with 17:05...
While guys like Hecht with 16:32.. but Ott got the most of the forwards group with 18:10. Even Foligno got 16:38 and Gerbe got 17:15.

I agree with a lot of what you posted.
3rd game in 4 nights for the Sabres and some just want to skip right over that while the Bruins were rested for 3 games.
Bruins got the benefit of the schedule , agreed!
I guess we will see when the Sabres are rested for 2 days going into Fridays game back here in Buffalo on Friday.
What I have seen in the last 2 games against the Bruins is that the Sabres have out toughed the Bruins easily.
Thornton and his look on his face when Scott turned around to see who grabbed him from behind around the Boston net was priceless. It was like a Derek Roy hug. Thornton looked like he was terrified but Scott just patted Thornton on his head and sent him back to the bench.
I hate concerts in venues like that because it just reminds me how rude most of American society is. I get that you want to stand near the stage, but then stay there. Don't push your way in and out every 5 minutes. The amount of people who don't even know how to say excuse me or thank you is just out of control at this point. - HonkFortheGoose
That place sucks . The owner is a tool and most of the stuff is poop,

Steamrolled???
Which game were you watching???
They simply ran out of gas.
We also missed some chances to score early. ( Foligno and Gerbe)
Also, penalties ultimately ruined our chances of getting at least one point.
Miller was great again.
I am already looking forward to this Friday's rematch. - Sabresfan88
You got to be kidding me....
Sure they were tired but they could not get out of their own end all night long. They couldn't put together any quality scoring chances until the 3rd when they decided to skate while down a goal.
Every team in the league plays back-to-back games. Every team has to overcome it. That's just an excuse.
Last nights game and the Islanders game were completely brutal. Both nights they could not get out of their own end all night and scoring chances were too few.

I agree that the intimidation factor appears to be diluted compared to years past but the schedule thing is an excuse.
Something happened to this team since last season with the D. During the last half of last year when they played pretty solid D compared to now where they literally can't get out of their own way in their own end.
Last night was the worst defensively. Just terrible, terrible hockey..
But if someone tried to light up at a Sabres game, they'd be kicked out. I don't understand why it's acceptable at one type of event, but not another. - HonkFortheGoose
A pro sports game has police presence its not dark and more eyes are on people, most Venus like the armory your told not to worrie about smoking cause there other bigger problems, and a lot of time the show will have a ratio of 1/ security for every 75 people

The Furthur show at UCF in 2011 was priceless. Indoor concert and the people were smoking pot while in line to buy more beer in front of the "cops" A magical evening.

Have you ever played in the National Hockey league and played 3 games in 4 nights with travel? It's not an excuse especially when the other team was on 3 days rest.
The 1st period tells me this team had its legs. After that they appeared to lose a step. But people are going to see things differently..
If I were Darcy, I would call the blue jackets on Dubinsky
call the flames on Giordano
call the islanders on Streit
call the av's on Hejda
call the wild on Gilbert
call the Yotes on Yandle

personally, i don't think anyone here has. but every other team in the nhl does this at points in their season and most of the good ones find a way to win.

Detroit and New Jersey just played 3 in 4 nights. Each team won all three games. I'm sure there are some others but I didn't take the time to look.
Buffalo won 2 of the 3 and that was by pure luck. Vanek's late goal against the Hab's would not have counted in most buildings. The Isle's took us to all night and except for a few bounces and Miller standing on his head that would have been a loss too.
The tired excuse is just that. Even just good (and not great) teams find a way to at least compete. Defensively against the Isle's and The B's the team just laid down.

It's ok it was the tail end of a back to back game weekend. They will never play like that again right. Might be the first time in 9 years where I decide not to watch the Sabres because of how bad they really are.
