Chip Kelly is a super clown. He's going to be NFC East fodder.

hence the move today. this road trip can't be a washout and if they can get 2 pts out of 2 non-bryz gms, that's worth it to me.
- isaiah520

Yes. 6 points would be pretty good. It's a very tough trip.

They are very physical. No question about that. They do not have the athletes and skill position players that Oregon does.
- PLindbergh31

Stanford finished #7 in the polls. Oregon #2. Oregon at home should win that game but the better team doesn't always win.

Makes me feel better about last year in the playoffs. Cause that series was so frustrating.

No doubt, but that doesn't mean poop if the QB can't get the ball to the rec or the RBs can't get past the front 7..... I'm not a Kelly fan, but all I can do is hope. The draft will reveal a lot about what direction this team will go the next few seasons

I think the Eagles offense will be much better but they need to revamp that defense in a hurry.

Exactly. It won't matter who the Coach is, if they don't get some talent in there. They need help in pretty much every area. Except RB probably.

A gimmick type offense can work in the NFL, the Redskins proved that this year. Eagles don't have the type of QB to run Kelly's offense. In that type of system an NFL QB is going to take a pounding. Nick Foles won't be running it for long.

Will find out soon enough. I think Chip's offense will do just fine. The defense is another story.

interesting that azzanaro, the DL coach, is also given the title of asst head coach. i think that's significant in light of the delay in naming davis DC. who knows?

I don't know. There are a number of possible scenarios. He could be hurt. They could also want to see Boucher play in the NHL before making a decision on who they want as the backup. Anything is possible. But my thought is that if they were ready to make that change, and go with Boucher as the backup, because they don't like what they see from Leighton. Then why the charade? Why not just waive him and send him down? Why carry 3 Goalies on the Cap, even for a week?
- MJL

I don't understand the need for a charade either. I think they wanted leighton last offseason to remain in the organization, the flyers tend to favor players they are familiar with and they did get to game 6 of the finals with leighton before. Boucher became available and they went and got him. I have no doubt that they brought in Boucher to possibly move up if either Bryzgalov or leighton faultered. It just so happens that leighton has whether the injury is real or not. Things have probably worked out for the best tho; leighton can be put back into a role he's better suited for and Boucher may likely finish his career with the big club. O I guess signing leighton never really hurt the flyers provided Boucher doesn't faulter in the backup spot and if so leighton comes back and plays well. If we're lucky we won't have to find out. I think everyone myself included, is happy Boosh is back with the big club; a lot more pleasant memories with that particular player.

One theory I have on this, and it's a bit ridiculous, but sometimes, with this team...

Maybe Holmgren's giving Leighton's agent a chance to beat the bushes and convince a team to put a claim in on him so he can stay in the NHL and this "injury" is buying him time to get something done.

But that seems real unlikely. More likely is Leighton tweaked something, and it got worse over the last few days and they didn't want to risk it.

Always was more of a believer in Boucher.

If he doesnt get hurt early in that SCF run he would have been the guy to go through Montreal and start against the Hawks.

Maybe its just because I like the guy, but I think Boosh has one more run in him.

The last scenario is most likely. I know it seems too coincidental, but this team has freak injuries constantly, for (frank) sake we just lost a hall of fame defenseman to what the naked eye perceived as a two week ordeal last season . Talbot got hurt iirc from a Matt Carle shot in practice last year, the list is endless, so maybe just maybe this one time, the freak injury works out in the teams favor and I say that without trying to take a poop at leighton. The guy is right up there with Mitch Williams in this town, it's getting sad.

As for his chance at a pro team if that's the case then they should ha e just let him walk last season but hey who knows that could very well be it too.
