ahhh the mediocrity accepting, oiler apologists are doin their thang.
a little wisdom for ya. it's hard to stop 5 on 3's. like real hard. u pretty much just have to get lucky and hope. it's basically a shooting gallery.
detroit scored 1/2 like that. this wasnt neccasarily a reflection of bad penalty killing. they scored a couple, but we had 8 chances too!!
our penalty kill is top ten in the league. (inconvienent truth i know)
alot of teams have beaten detroit. 5 in their first 10 games actually.
tough time scoring because of howard? hes a pretty good goalie yes. far from elite though. as far as goals against theyre nothing special this year. in the bottom half of the league actually. which indicates many teams have been able to score on howard.
WE ARE DEAD LAST IN 5 on 5 GOALS. AND STILL BOTTOM COUPLE IF YOU INCLUDE PP.
these numbers arent up for debate, they're facts. which means u can't say 'ummmm' a thousand times or use a bunch of emoticons to disprove them.
stop making excuses and really watch the game. forget how enamored u are with all things blue and orange for a couple hours and try and watch objectively. just once.
it mystifies me how someone who loves the oilers so much can misunderstand the game so drastically.
or is it just a defensive mechanism? - hugefemale dog77
Ya know what I am still cheering on my team not trolling like you.
Answer me this...... I have noticed when Edmonton was higher than Vancouver in the standings you were unusually quiet. Now that the Oilers are behind them You are in here everyday muttering they are too small, too soft, ripping on the guys standind the team.
Lets see they are missing 3 out of the 5 top centers one the team and the farm
They lost a game 2-1 giving up 2 P/P goals to Detroit while missing their two top P/King centers. How did you expect them to be doing this year they were 29th last season.
At the beginning of all this the questions were Defense and Goaltending. Well 11 games into the season they are sitting tied for 11th in G/A and many of the teams ahead of them have played up to 3 games less than the Oilers.
Many people thought they would be great offensively but you can't always score 5 on 5 when you can't win a F/O.
Lets see How much do the Oiler's miss Horcoff???????
I am still standing by my prediction of 9-11 in the west and that is with no changes.
Only a person with a distint lack of eith vision or hockey intelligence would be running around after 11 games yelling the sky is falling the sky is falling or Richard but he is looking for hits. Whats your excuse? |

huh?
debating with you is like arguing with a woman.
not only do u have zero rational ideas or logical responses in your contentions, but u also can't comprehend when someone spells out a logically sequenced thought for you to examine. you just other start ranting about some minutiae that has little or nothing to do with the discussion at hand
the worst part is; with your old age there's no hope of recovery. in fact you're just gonna fade into oblivion more and more |

Since we're so crazy about Oil Kings... What would it cost to get Henrik Samuelsson from the Coyotes? This kid is a beast. |

Wow standard response, You can't argue with stats like it's 11 games into the season. or reality that they are missing 3 of 5 centers.
No you just throw out insults as usual.
Edit: you didn't answer the canucks question why is it when they are losing your quiet, and when they go on a 5 game winning streak your in here calling for heads to roll.
I'll answer I have said it before and I'll say it again your a canucks troll. |

Unless the Oilers plan on trading down in the draft, there is no way they pass up on better options prior to Lazar. They wont be in the top 3-5 for picks (I say that but that assuming they dont crap the bed the 2nd half of this season) but they wont be in the bottom half of the draft either. Thats about where Lazar will end up going. Somewhere between 20-30.
Nichushkin, Lindholm, Shinkurak, Fucale, Zadorov, Nurse are just a few of the better options to round out the top 10 that the Oilers would be crazy to pass up on. Lazar will be a solid player out of the draft but if the Oilers reach for another Oil King like they did last season when they drafted Moroz in the 2nd round (WTF was that) then someone at that draft table will need a serious kick in the junk. - Axeman33
No goalies in the top 10. Never. please no. especially one that can't even put up a good save percentage in juniors.
edit: I do agree with the others though, especially reaching for Lazar. |

exactly my point.
ive attempted to already do this.
i retorted to the the bad PK u mentioned being the problem, by explaining that in fact, no it isnt....with numbers
i retorted to how difficult it is to score on howard, by explaining in relative terms, no it isnt...with numbers
i retorted to what u said about how hard it is to beat detroit, by explaining thus far, no it hasnt been...with numbers
as i said, u dont seem to grasp, or fail to understand logical responses put before you.
and yes, you've found me out with your superlative detective skills.
I'm actually a canucks lover. damn u!!u caught me!!

They won't deal him. I wanted the Oilers to move up their 2nd round pick so they could take Samuelsson. He's tremendous. |

Yes, because 11 games in tells the entire story about how a season went.
Remember the Oilers for the first 14 last season? Remember how the next 68 games? Exactly.
Now turn your hat sideways and boo boo away. - Maxbone
Richard do you know what a flake is? what you write on a daily basis makes me think your a flake
You have to stop crapping on players in one blog than write another a day later saying how great they are and bleed Oiler colours, cause that makes you a flake. Ryan Smyth has earned the right to retire an Oiler end of story so writing one day hes a dried up hack and the next saying how good he is to the Oiler appearance is truly pathetic.
If there was another Oiler blogger on this site i would never read your garbage but there isnt and as a Oilers fan i must read everything available to me on my team.
I'm guessing Tambo hasnt made a trade yet cause teams know were desperate to make the playoffs so there asking for the sun and moon when were offering the moon, it would be a wise choice this year to just play it out and see in the off season who gets that buy out thing and hope for a top 10 pick and never draft another player under 6ft for any reason whats so ever, not even a goalie.
and why would the Oilers draft another comrie? did we have success with the other two?

Ryan Smyth has been bleeding copper and blue his entire career and they should be loyal to him, it's not like he would have left Edmonton over a contract dispute worth only 500,000 over 5 years. I mean this guy is Oilers through and through, he would never play for anyone else......what? He and his agent bailed out of negotiations and it was less than 100k a year and it would have made Edmonton a better team??? Yeah this guy deserves loyalty, (frank) him and his hooker wife and send him to NYI it finish his career, lots of orange whores out on Long Island he would be very happy with, it's what he deserves. I hope they bring back the Captain Highlander jerseys and he plays his last game in that (frank)ing thing. |

This....and especially the bolded part. Thats why the Oilers wont make a trade yet. Injuries and desperation? GMs will be looking to hose us. Patience. Im aware of all the shortcomings (and there are more than a few) but right now would not be a good time to make a deal.

Same for Eberle. He's much stonger this year. It'll come for Nuge. He threw a few big checks last game.
News for today:
Whitney out tonight. Fistric in.
Also Yak playing with Nuge/Ebs, Hall with Gags, Hemmer. - Iggysbff
About (frank)ing time... Yaks will be lights out tonight I just know it! This team better win... With poopney out of the line up we already saved at least a goal against if not 2... |
