I hope something happens I'm tired of the same story bad d can't score and a powerplay that can't score on the worse pk in the league same story every year

I think edm needs to move one of the big 4 for a gritty young top line guy. Yaks for both Schenns.

Clearly a troll post. Islanders aren't getting Whitney or Hemsky. You want those 3 guys your looking at Klefbolm, Gagner and MPS
- Bieksa#3

My post was obviously in favour of the oilers. I made the assumption one team would be looking for proven commodities and the other good prospects. To be fair oilers would likely have to add their 1st to that proposal.

The deal suggested is completely one-sided.

However, you mentioned Okposo and Reasoner. I have no idea why the Oilers would deal for them. Streit would make sense, however, but would the Islanders actually want to part with him? He's playing 25min per game right now.

- Maxbone

Comments today from Capuano saying - Streit is playing to many 5v5 minutes
So he won't be playing past 18mins in my opinion.
Yes he plays a lot, but he can only play offense. With Visnovsky here we have a better Streit. Defensively hickey looks way better, and offensively he has surprised me.
KO has talent, but he needs a slap to the face to wake up. When your literally strongest player on the team plays softer than Gretzky, there is a problem
Also KO needs skating camp this summer

bailey isnt the answer. hes not strong defensively, nor physical.
hes not adept for the 3rd line, nor as good as hemmer or yaks. doesnt make sense for us.

i obviously would love a package of both streit and neiderreiter, and id pay to get it, as it wouldnt be cheap. that seems like alongshot though

no way they deal de haan either.

streit seems to have lost some favour with coaching and fans. but would still add to our depth alot and he seems to be the only one that actually makes sense from both sides.

any deal takes place, id guess its streit for a prospect

Perhaps and I don't say it to troll. Oilers are way to soft. Yes they could improve the toughness in their bottom 6 but their top 6 will get man handled

From your perspective, what would it take from the Oilers to get Bailey? Would a deal like Hemsky and Whitney for Bailey and Streit sound close? Perhaps a pick or a prospect added on either side? I just wanna get a feel for how Islanders fans feel about their players.
- MaximumBone

As of now It is hard to tell. Last year when bailey played wing he had 17 PTs in his last 19 games, looked like a complete new player and beast. Bailey is more valuable o keep now and risk him losing trade value than to trade now for a late first Or a 2nd + 3rd. I honestly believe JT and bailey could make bailey a 65 pt player.

The trade you proposed seemed pretty close though, maybe a 2 or 3 pick. the only question is hemskys health.

Actually bailey is great defensively. He busts his butt, plays PK and checks

Yep, typical response from Richard & Oiler fans - thinking you'll get two young players with upside for a dead-beat in Hemsky(always injured & will be this season, just wait) and what else again??

Exactly my point. I've heard rumors as well that those two Islanders are in play but Snow wants Magnus & the 2013 1st rounder in return & he isn't settling for Hemsky, Whitney or any other garbage that's been stated.

So enough with the garbage players going to the Isles, it isn't happening.

i agree. not a troll. way too small and soft in the top 6.
we're so easy to play against as teams are just stacking the blueline when we attack.
we constantly just try to score off the rush as we cant dump and chase cause lose all the battles downlow.

id move gags in favour of brayden schenn in a flash.
i dont think we want that hole that yaks would leave. and the flyers obviously wouldnt want anything less for him

i dont see a deal there

meh.

great is very relative term. i dont think hes stronger than horcoff or belanger defensively. and not enough of an upgrade over gags offensivly. or at all actually.

i just dont think he makes sense for us

i doubt hemmer moves at all same with 2013 first rounder. What happens if its the first overall again. Besides tambi doesn't have the balls to trade anyone that makes over 1.5 million

those two statements makes me believe you havent watched bailey much

Bailey only played with top 6 players for 19 games... and that was last season
he had 17 pts in those 19 games, and looked amazing.

i agree sometimes some fans get a little silly with undervaluing opposing players. (no way the isles deal de haan for anything less than a ton)
and that one wasnt so good.

but ur also guilty of this and just an oiler troll. u are also good for a laugh when u spew ur oiler hate garbage.
made perfectly clear with ur hemsky comments.

u have no idea what ur talking about. hes been VERY good this year. part of ur argument is that "he'll be injured again, just wait"!!!
as if this is some sort of valid contention to prove ur point

hes barely a career .4 ppg guy. cmon. his best seaosn is 35 pts.

ive heard alot of gags hate, but hes far ahead of bailey thus far. and having his best season so far too.

and hes not as strong defensively or as good on the dot as either belanger or horcoff.

bailey could still improve of course. he had huge potential coming in. but hes been far from 'amazing'

Maybe, but he's right. Whitney is awful with the Oilers, why on earth would the Islanders want him? They don't need to reach the cap floor, there is no reason to go after him.
