again we lose to a (frank)ing backup goalie. I'm sorry but I have a hard time losing games to backup goaltenders. I think teams are highlighting games against the Isles to give their starter a break. It's embarrassing. Montoya, Hedberg, and Ennis beat us.... REALLY!!!! (frank)!
- Mr.Black

Montoya just shut out a really good Ottawa team last night.. And Hedberg Could be a starter for many teams.. And i really have no clue who ennis is and who he plays for..

But anyway, This team isn't coached well crappuano needs to go! Replace him with Weight till our clueless GM brings in a quality coach that can motivate a young team.

Last nights game was unacceptable you cant out shoot a team by a 3-1 margin and lose the game.. Isles looked good last night out played the Sabres in every aspect of the game except where it counts 'goals scored'.. Nabby gave up a few weak goals Hes starting to show his age, his reflexes are slow. Cant believe im saying this but DP needs to play a few games and give nabby some needed rest. I really think if DP was in net last night Isles win 2-1 or 3-1..

And also Visnovski looked great +2 on game where the team loses 3-2 and his first game paired with Strait isn't bad at all..

Team needs to win monday BAAAAAAAAAAAD..

He plays like a 5 year old who just started skating. Man his trade value has to be very low.

Is it me or Did i really didn't notice Okposo and Streit play that much last night?

We are trading Jack Capuano for Jacques Lemaire. That alone will make our team win more hockey games, without changing ANY of what is on the ice.

Article in the NY Post:

Upon further review, I am going to withhold even feigned outrage at the latest maneuver by the Islanders — who also operate under the aliases Team Floor and Team Waiver Wire — to spend as little money as possible while meeting the collective bargaining agreement’s minimal AAV requirements.

For the deal in which Garth Wang, er, Charles Snow, sorry, general manager Garth Snow and owner Charles Wang, acquired the suspended Tim Thomas and his $5 million over-35 cap hit so that the club might be able to move veterans such as Lubomir Visnovsky ($5.6 million cap hit), Mark Streit ($4.1 million) and Evgeni Nabokov ($2.75 million) for draft picks at the deadline without falling below the floor, is actually a pretty clever one.

The fact, as Daly told us on Friday and we reported on Twitter, that the Islanders would not get the $5 million cap-hit benefit next year if Thomas is not in an Islanders uniform in 2013-14, even if his contract is tolled, turns what might have been a comical attempt to circumvent the CBA into a canny exploitation of a unique situation.

The only reason Thomas’ contract counts against the cap while he sits home is because of his over-35 contract status. It’s not as if this is a scenario likely to become commonplace — or even repeated.

The problem, though, is that at some point the Islanders are going to have to declare themselves a major league operation. At some point, the Islanders and Wang have the responsibility to the paying customers — still somehow plural — to put a representative product on the ice.

Because this season is a charade. This roster is a pennies-on-the-dollar exploitation of the fan base that does not so much as suggest an attempt at an honest rebuild for the battered fan-base, but an attempt to move the goal posts, perhaps all the way to Brooklyn.

Get this: Thomas, Visnovsky, John Tavares, Matt Moulson, Martin Grabner, Kyle Okposo and Frans Nielsen combine for a full-season cap hit of $27.783 million. Yet because of contract structures and suspension, the Islanders actually are paying these seven players a sum of $16 million.

There are just four games at the Coliseum following the April 3 trade deadline, so there’s little harm if the Islanders strip down for the final month.

The harm is if maneuvering to save the owner some money become management’s sole purpose. The harm is if the revenue-sharing money for which the Islanders qualify for the first time under the new CBA, is not shared with players. The harm is if what we see is all the fanbase is going to get for as long as the team remains on Long Island.

For that would indeed be an outrage.

isles have made changes. cappy took 3 loses to realize that reasoner and Boulton are aweful. Cizikas brings it

Say you want about tonight but isles bring that effort night and they will be in the playoffs. They got unlucky tonight. Unlike Thurs vs rags when they were just aweful.

JT should have had a hattrick, Moulson got robbed by Ennis stick.

I thought Bailey and Viz were both very good in their first game.

- Isles316

and bc of the lack of physical play, eveyone here wanted Mcdonald to go down, and im the only 1 that said he can not be sent down bc he is a true grinder which this team doesnt have...........

What are Islanders fans general thoughts on Tavares ? Don't watch many Islanders games, but is he turning out to be everything you expected ? To me he doesn't seem to have that X-Factor, is he generally a forward and doesn't do much on the defensive side of things, is he everything a Number 1 pick should be ?
- MikeyOz

He's a top 5 player in the league. He could of had 4 goals last night. Only 22 years old. I love the guy and your assumption about the x factor Is false. The guy carries this team on his back with no help

You must be reading a different blog than me!!!

The Islanders outplayed the Sabres last night and lost the game!!!

Simple!!!

Did they play a great game... no, but they outskated Buffalo last night.

They made mistakes with coverage, Nabby let in a weak goal.

They need more grit on the top 6... we all know that.

You can put whatever spin you want on it.

As usual I am right... you are wrong!!!

OK, and the other 10 people on here saying the same exact thing I'm saying are wrong too? That's my point which you are avoiding as usual. Also you can put whatever spin on it you want Capuano I mean Jim, saying they played a great game when they actually didn't. You'll be saying they've improved when they don't make the playoffs again. As usual you're right? Come on Jim, you know that's not truth

That's why it makes me sick, I 100% agree with everything he said. I'm not a Brooks fan, far from it. The guy has done nothing but speak the truth, Isles fans may not want to hear it but it's the truth. Good example of this is jimmmccc72

Most fans don't need Brooks help with being pissed. If you watched this team in the eighties and saw how much they were a part of LI and knew how they were the hardest ticket to get in the NHL. Harder than Toronto or Montreal. Then u see what they are today you don't need Brooks to make you anymore angry. Snow and Wang don't require any help they are doing a good job on their own.

Really? What do you need? He's considered a super star by most already and is probably in the top 5 players in the entire NHL. I'll take that "x factor" any day thanks!

Vanek is coming into his own as we saw yesterday, guy looks great. X factor and all! lmfao. Vanek looks especially good when he is left completely alone in front of the net multiple times in a game . Players love coming to the Island. Not to play for the Islanders but to play against us and pad their stats

Vanek's always been a good player, not just against the Isles. Hasn't always had this much success this consistently, but I remember trying to convince you guys over the offseason...maybe during some random trade discussion...that he wasn't just some softy perimeter player.

edit...do agree that on his goal though, there were four Isles standing around him watching the puck instead of taking the body.

he's amazing, rest of the team sucks (frank)ing COCK!

Instead of getting him talent to play with that (frank)ing loser cocksucking slob of a GM is getting to the cap floor by trading for a bigger loser cocksucking slob that will never dawn the Isles jersey.

(frank) ME THIS IS RIDICULOUS!
