Totally agree, but apparently the play is actually slower in the European leagues since players have more time and space which favours a more patient style of game. Maybe something in between the NA and European size rinks? Or it would be nice if the refs/league didn't change the way they officiate in the playoffs. - Nucker101
Tough to say. The WC last year was plenty exciting |

That's exactly right. I've never seen another sport where the rulse change as much between the regular season and the playoffs. In hockey it's almost like a different sport.
My other secret desire is to open our rinks to international rinks sizing, introuding way more skill and speed and dropping the goon element, but that's probably taboo at this point. - AlexF
I'.ve always wanted the bigger ice, but the owners have to squeeze every dollar they can...it would be nice to see the NHL implement international ice |

True, but those type of tournaments usually don't have teams playing systems like NHL teams plus it's always loaded with skilled players, even guys on 3rd and 4th lines on good teams so who really knows. IMO the best thing to do is just call the game the same way in the playoffs and leave the rink size the same. |

No, that would be bad. Too much circling back, 82 games of that and we have the European soccer league. |

On that big ice its sickning. The teams keep going for the breakaway pass and end up icing it |

Totally agree. I'd advocate that rule of play first, but should that fail, ..... |

So you don't think there would be more open ice to make break out passes that catches the opposition flat footed, also the goalie would have to think twice about a puck sent deep |

In international competitions it's ok, you've got the best of the best playing. But when you've got two or three good players and then some talented players followed by your bottom six guys, I prefer it the way it is. Just my opinion after watching and talking with guys who've played over there. |
