I think with the weak division we play in a Prez 3peat looking more and more likely.

Chicago is going to run away with it and let them, we'd be far better off without that added pressure of being the best team in the NHL never to win a Cup.

3 straight would be kinda awesome though, obviously not as good as a single cup but not too bad either. I would rather win it than not if given a choice.

It's rare that a President's Trophy winning team wins the Cup, I remember posting the stats in another thread. Teams that win the Prez usually are hot at the start and build up such a lead by the ASG that they coast until the playoffs and cool off and get beaten by weaker teams who are desperate to make the playoffs and are playing at their highest level/intensity. It's very hard when you're the front runner to get up for games in March when the games become meaningless. It's why I wish Minny and Edmonton would give us more of a challenge so that we'd have to fight just to win the division. Being forced to win every game near the end of the season to keep the 2 or 3 seed would benefit us greatly.

It was about 25% that the PT winner gets the Cup. That's a way higher percentage than any other placement. Neither thing leads to the other though. Teams have to win both. No reason to think that winning or losing the PT will affect our playoff fate.

No, but it does carry a lot of pressure and raises expectations, and in this market where expectations are high enough as it is, winning the Prez is an award we could do without. Plus a lower seed might give us a more favorable matchup because we tend to have trouble with bigger teams like LA/SJ or trap-like teams like PHO, all of whom I expect to fight it out for the 7th and 8th seed.

I dont care who we play. If we are healthy it should not matter. I figure this will be our year to win the cup so all the Leaf fans can say it doesnt really count because of the short season.
IMO if the Leafs win it this year ( ) they would all say it counts because their name is engraved on the cup.

Now all we have to do is get Calfary into the finals and the Canucks are set.
I have a love/hate relationship with the NWD. Edmonton lost tonight. This day could set the tone for things to come as it pertains to the division title.

But it does matter, winning the Cup means getting favorable matchups and staying healthy, having to face teams like LA/SJ/PHO in the first round isn't a favorable matchup, nor would be a short/easy series.
Sucker punch? I heard that a Leaf Bit someone..... odd that happening after 1000s of Burrows comments from past Leaf posters. - Beatle_john
Definitely not a sucker punch, check out the thread a few pages ago for the full moving picture thingy.
As for Grabo biting or not biting Pacioretty, its difficult to tell, especially given that Pacioretty grabbed Grabo from behind by his molars. Looking at the video the only thing you can say for sure is that Grabo's mouth and nose are covered by Max, so he deserved to get at least a punch in the face

Hard to understand why Canucks are so hated . Bieksa Lu and Schneides are some funny guys.
Burrows no one understands and Kesler is just plain beautiful.
Why all the hate? - VANTEL
Don't that this wrong way, although how could't you, but the reason the Canucks are so hated is the fans. Arrogant, cocky and with no reason to be so, no Cups.
Obviously your behaviour after Cup finals only adds to your poor rep. You're not "respect" hated like Philly or Raider fans either, they wear as a badge of honour.
